For you nerdy witches who play RPG like D&D well I have a new divination tool for you that I developed on my own. As far as I know there is one other person who does it but he uses a D6 if I remember correctly. Also this is for witches who can’t afford pendulums either. So here we go…..

What is a D20?

well in simple terms it is a 20 sided dice.

So How Do You Use It?

So first i get all my D20 out and roll them all. I currently have four they each all have names: Blanche, Tatiana, Viking, and Derp. Ask whom wants to help you. Whomever has the highest number is the one I use because it means they want to help you with your questions. Then you start asking your yes or no questions with the selected dice.

Now this is how it works:

  • If it lands anywhere from 1 to 9: It means No
  • If it lands anywhere from 10 to 12: It means Maybe
  • If it lands anywhere from 13 to 20: It means Yes
  • If it lands on an edge where you can’t get a for sure number, falls off the table, falls in your legs or it has landed weirdly: It means: I Don’t Know

I hope this helps!

My dice say NO… everytime..

I would see if they are weighted properly and also I cleanse mine every wednesday

What is a d4?

it is a 4 sided dice

What is it used for?

i use it for time measurement by day standards

The reading numbers:

  • 1: is present to a month
  • 2: is a month to six months
  • 3: is six months to a year
  • 4: a year or longer

you can combine it with d20 divination

Reading Review 7/23/17

@fox-sprt This is Kepp reviewing both the readings you sent me on discord! Sorry it took me so long to put this review together! ^u^;

Aura Reading
Your aura is very green. it’s a light shade of green that brings people happiness. There’s also a pastel shade of red, a soft but burning passion.
I can taste something thick, hot and delicious, some kind of soup. I can hear a rabbit, thumping it’s leg and the sound of grazing animals. I feel very much at home

-Green is literally my favorite color and is very important to me, I honestly use it to represent me a lot, so the fact that it was a shade that brings happiness is so wonderful because that’s honestly one of my main goals in life ;u;
-The pastel red, soft burning passion, is definitely my love for my girlfriend. This kind of love is so new to me but it’s so strong and makes me so happy and a lot of the times I describe it to myself as feeling like a nice flame in my chest so the soft burning makes so much sense. Also the word pastel definitely correlates to her because she loves pastels, specifically pink which is her favorite color and I use to represent her so that makes perfect sense!
-I honestly can’t say what I think the soup taste is because I have no idea 😂 maybe my determination? Hopeful future dreams??
-The thumping rabbit could easily be my impatience for the future or general anxiety, as I tend to shake my leg a lot when anxious.
-Not so sure what the grazing animals sounds represent. My growing content with my present situation possibly?
-And finally the at home feeling is probably what I’m beginning to realize myself, for the first time in my life I’m starting to feel at home due to my relationship with my gf, my growing confidence in myself, and my very near future with college coming up. Or it’s possibly what I’m sharing with others? I’ve always been anxious and shut others out but now I’ve been trying to be kind to others so maybe hopefully that’s a vibe I’m starting to give off now that I’m learning to manage my anxiety 😀

Playlist Reading
– Ocean Avenue
Initially the style of the song confused me as it’s not something I’d generally listen to. However, I saw that as a way of saying “you need to try and step out of your comfort zone more.” Also the song seemed really nostalgic as if it was trying to remind me of my fun childhood on the beach with my close friend, so while I’m excited for the future I shouldn’t forget the good parts of my past.

– Upside Down
This song felt like it was describing my present situation with my long distance girlfriend. She just left after visiting for 9 days and it’s been pretty rough, tho despite that I’ve been really upbeat like the sound of the song because I’m excited for the future. Specifically the future I’m going to have with her. Also the song used a lot of sun/sunlight references which correlate to my girlfriend because we have this thing where she is the sun and I’m the moon.
(Also funny enough, while writing this part YouTube suggested italobrothers song the moon which I hadn’t seen before so I clicked that and it sounds like her perspective of me “together we’ll be free in harmony”) ((I’m not crying you’re crying))

– We Are Stars
This song honestly seemed like a message on what I need to do right now to continue on to the future I wants, so this playlist reading was almost essentially a past-present-future reading haha!! The message was essentially keep loving, keep trying, and you will get to where you want to be.

Thank you so much for these readings!! They were so incredible ah wow thank you!!!

I’m selling this tarot deck for $10 if anyone is interested, it’s brand new, I just don’t want to use it due to a couple of scenes that make me uncomfy. However, I don’t know that I should post those so if you’re interested I can show you those cards before you buy them so you don’t end up in the same position. Thank you for reading!!!

Does anyone know of any tarot decks without naked women or r*pe-like scenes on them?? I recently got some kind of dragon deck and all the queens look like pin ups and there’s one card that looks like a dude attacking a girl and it just makes me really uncomfortable, but I don’t really have access to any local shops and don’t know about any other decks. Suggestions would be wonderful thank you

What to do when you feel a reading is wrong

littlewitchystar:

Hi everyone! I’ve noticed a bit of negativity floating around the divination community. And I wanted to make a quick post addressing it!

What happens when you request a tarot/energy/rune/oracle reading (especially a free one) and you feel like the reader got it wrong. That’s ok! It happens! But what’s important is how you respond to this! Most readers like myself ask for feedback so we know what we’re doing right but especially what we are doing wrong! So here’s a little how to guide on how to let a reader know that their reading didn’t meet your expectations without being rude!

1. Say thank you- even if you feel the reading was completely bogus say thanks! The reader used their time and energy to deliver a reading to you. They don’t have to offer these services but they do and you, whether you realize it or not, benefitted from this reading. Even if it’s wrong at least you are now certain what is not going on!

2. Express that you thought the reading wasn’t interpreted correctly in a KIND manner. Saying something like “your reading for me was dead wrong” isn’t helpful and is rude to your reader. Instead begin your feedback in a different way perhaps like “thank you for the reading! I wanted to leave some feedback as not everything you stated resonated with me”.

3. Back up your statement- we ask for feedback/constructive criticism! If you say we’re wrong but don’t say why you feel that way how are we supposed to learn? Readers make mistakes, we’re human! But we can’t learn if you rudely tell us were wrong but won’t support your claim.

4. Acknowledge potential error on your end- Was your question super vague? Is this a question you didn’t want the answer to? It’s possible you’re blocking yourself from accepting the full meaning of the reading. Make sure you analyze that as well.

5. Don’t have an attitude- I know it’s disappointing when you receive a reading that doesn’t resonate. You ask yourself “what the heck is this reader doing, this can’t be right”. You might be angry or upset to hear something negative. Try to keep that to yourself. If you can’t, it’s best not to leave feedback! Diviner are people who work hard at what they do. It can be really discouraging to get overly harsh negative words about our work.

If you express yourself correctly the diviner may be willing to revisit your reading and re-interpret it in light of the new info you provided. Like I said we’re human. I know that if I get info that might change things I give a reinterpretation of the reading. However, the reader may stick to their original reading as they may be picking up on something you can’t quite sense. Sometimes readings take a while to make sense or as mentioned you’re blocked to the message. Meditate on it and decide for yourself if you’re gonna accept this reading or let it go. If you get a negative reading and you don’t like it you don’t need to accept that as your final outcome. The future is malleable and you are in charge of it. Readings are never 100% accurate or set in stone. You can always make the change you are hoping for!

That’s all! I hope this helps! Remember to be kind to your diviners!

Tasseography is the divination or art of telling fortunes by interpreting the symbols in tea leaves and coffee grounds. This piece is inspired by this art that has been handed down through the Armenian women of my family. The illustration shows the coffee plant growing out of the sleeves of the hands holding the cup with a top border of oriental poppies.

Top 10 Lines in Palmistry.

Palmistry is an art of reading the hands. It is believed that everyone in this world has a destiny, which can be determined by analyzing the lines, rings and mounts on one’s hand. Out of these, lines and rings on the hand of a person are more important in context with palmistry-

1. Life Line
Life line is obviously the most important line that can be found on the hand. By analysing it, one can determine how long will the bearer live and the ups and downs that he will face in his life.  It starts below the mount of Jupiter (below index figure) and passes through the mount of Venus.

2. Head Line
Brain is considered to be one of the most important organs of the body and line of head could tell how intelligent is the bearer of the line of head is expected to be. A long and straight line reflects a practical man whereas a curvy line of head means that the person is more creative than practical. It starts below mount of Jupiter and passes straight dividing the palm.

3. Heart Line
Line of Heart is situated above the Line of Head and it determines the emotional level of a person. A short line indicates possibility of a heart attack and a complete absence of Line of Heart means that the person has no emotions in him and is likely to be of a criminal nature.

4. Fate Line
The line of fate determines the fortune of a person. A straight and unbroken line of fate means that the person will be lucky in this life while a broken line of fate means that the person is likely to see lots of misfortunes during his life.

5. Sun Line
Line of sun in situated below the ring finger. It determines the amount of success that a person is likely to attain in his life. A strong line of sun is considered a sign of a successful person.

6. Health Line
Line of health is situated below the mount of mercury (under the little finger). It can determine the health of a person and generally, it is considered as a good sign, if this line is light or is not present at all; such a person is expected to live a healthy and ailment free life.

7. Marriage Line
It is a small line situated just above the line of heart at the corner of the mount of mercury. One can have one of more line of marriage. The stronger lines represent marriage relationship while the lighter ones reflect affairs. An absence of line of marriage would mean that the person will not get married in this life.

8. Ring of Saturn
It is in shape of a half moon and it surrounds the middle finger. The person, who has such a ring, is expected to be of a very serious nature and someone who likes to live alone. Generally, it is not considered a good sign to have such a ring on the hand.

9. Ring of Venus
This ring starts from the middle of little finger and ring finger and end in the mid of index finger and middle finger. The bearer of such a ring is likely to be extravagant and is expected to lose his fortune due to this habit.

10. Ring of Sun
This ring occupies position below the sun finger or the ring finger. Like other rings, ring of sun too is not considered to be a good sign. The bearer of such a ring is expected to be too proud and egoist in nature.

Oracle: The Basics of Divination

image

What is an Oracle?

An oracle is a person, psychic or witch that uses their extrasensory abilities to attempt to foretell the fortunes of others through various forms of divination. Usually an Oracle focuses on one to three main types of divination and hones those skills, while others like to dabble in a little bit of everything. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference.

What is Divination?

Divination, as defined in the dictionary, is the practice of attempting to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge by occult or supernatural means, augury; prophecy, and perception by intuition; instinctive foresight.

Where do I start?

Personally, I would recommend starting with something simple. The three best kinds of divination for witchlings, in my opinion, are Pendulum Reading, Tarot and Runes.

pendulums

What is Pendulum Reading?

Pendulums are made up of a crystal carved to a point and either a chain or rope. The photo on the left depicts my two pendulums (bloodstone and opalite) and my pendulum board. A Pendulum Reading is a type of divination where yes or no questions are asked of either the pendulum itself, or of a spirit, entity or deity with the pendulum acting as a conduit.

How do I use a Pendulum?

First, its always a good idea to cleanse any item you plan to use in your magical practice. The easiest way to do this is to hold it in your palm and visualize a white glowing light washing over it and purifying it. To perform a reading, hold the pendulum completely still in the center of your board or over a flat surface. Make your associations clear, for example, if you want a vertical swing to mean yes and a horizontal swing to mean no, say so. Then, ask your questions. If done properly and with enough practice, the pendulum should swing noticeably enough in one direction or the other for you to get a good answer. tarot reading

What is Tarot?

According to Wikipedia, Tarot is  is a pack of playing cards, used from the mid-15th century in various parts of Europe to play games such as Italian tarocchini and French tarot. In the late 18th century, it began to be used for divination in the form of tarotology/cartomancy.

How do I do a Tarot Reading?

That depends on your personal preference and the deck you choose. Some oracle cards do not operate the exact same way as the mainstream major/minor arcana 78 deck tarot cards. For a detailed run down of how to get started with Tarot, check out my Beginner’s Guide to Tarot post here.

What are Runes?all-runes

The term ‘Rune’ means ‘Secret, Whisper or Mystery’ and are Norse in origin. The legend goes that Odin, the All Father, suspended himself upside down from the Tree of Life, Yggdrasil, in order to gain enlightenment and revelation. After nine days and nights of this, it is said that he saw the runes suddenly appear at his feet. Runes are traditionally used for divination. The most common found rune set comes with 24 rune stones and is known as the Elder Futhark. You can also find rune sets with 25 stones, the 25th one being a blank stone known as the Wyrd stone, but this was a more recent addition. Each rune has a special meaning and a connection with a specific deity in the Nordic pantheon.

How do I cast and read Rune Stones?

Casting Runes can seem pretty intimidating, but its pretty easy once you get the hang of it. It is important to handle your rune stones with care and reverence. The best way to get well acquainted with your set of runes is to do a ‘daily draw’, that is, once a day draw a single rune from the bag, just like you would for a single card tarot draw. This will also help you to become more familiar with each individual rune’s meanings and interpretations. Some like to ask a specific questions, but because runes have a much more complex meaning than just ‘yes’ or ‘no’, the wording of a question can be important. Don’t ask questions like, ‘Will I have a good day?’ but instead word it to be something like, ‘Please give me insight into today’s events.’ You can, however, ask a yes or no question but instead of interpreting the runes, you receive the answer simply by determining whether or not the stone is in the upright position, which would mean a yes, or is inverted, which would be a no. For detailed instructions on Rune Stones, their meanings and how to read them, see my Beginner’s Guide to Runes here!

Okay, got it. What next?

Next, you should expand upon your skills! Some other awesome types of divination you could try as a newbie would be Crystal Scrying, Nephelomancy, Shufflemancy and Palmistry. flourite

What is Crystal Scrying?

Crystal Scrying, or Gazing, is the use of crystals to peek into the future. By staring into a slightly transparent crystal for a long period of time, you can start to pick out certain shapes, and interpret them into what they mean for you personally. The best crystals for Scrying, in my opinion, are Quartz, Fluoirite, Citrine and Calcite.

What is Nephelomancy?

Also called Aeromancy, Nephelomancy is the art of Cloud Reading or Cloud Scrying. You pick out shapes and interpret them. The colors of the clouds, shape of the clouds, and types of clouds all play a role in the overall meaning of the reading. You can see more details on Nephelomancy at the end my Stormcraft post.

What is Shufflemancy?

Shufflemancy is one of the favorite forms of divination for tech and urban witches, as all you need to do it is your phone or mp3 player. You just put your music library on shuffle and the first song that plays is what should be interpreted. For example, I put my Itunes library on shuffle, and this is the song that played. Which is ironic, I think, because it’s actually currently raining where I live. You should also take into account what the song, personally, means to you. Do you have any memory associations with it? Does it relate to any specific emotion you feel? Is it nostalgic or sentimental? How so? For example, this song makes me feel a little melancholy, it reminds me of a time in my life when I was very alone and spent a lot of time on my own, longing to be loved and longing to heal from recent traumas. I also used to fall asleep to this song a lot. So, for me, I interpret this song as a sign that I need to stop and rest, to forgive myself and give myself a break, as well as focus on all the good things that have happened, instead of the bad.

What is Palmistry?hand

Palmistry, or chiromancy is the claim of characterization and foretelling the future through the study of the palm, also known as palm reading or chirology. The practice is found all over the world, with numerous cultural variations. Those who practice chiromancy are generally called palmists, palm readers, hand readers, hand analysts, or chirologists. I plan to do an in detailed post about Palmistry here very soon.
