With the school season soon approaching, you may find yourself overwhelmed with work and unable to focus. To combat this I present to you the Swift Focus Jar, designed for you to quickly burn your way through a piece of work that needs doing.
For this spell, write on a piece of paper that you are going to focus, or what you are going to get done. Place it inside the jar. After this point, you have a choice of what ingredients you can add. I just used a lavender tealight, some dried jasmine flowers and bay leaves but you and use whatever you have from this list that suits your purpose best.
Jasmine (For the creation of new ideas and promoting mental creativity)
Basil (relief from mental fatigue, focus)
Lavender (for creating a calmed mental state)
Bay Leaf (victory, success, strong wishes)
Ginger (Success)
Cinnamon (concentration)
Peppermint (Alertness, energy)
Add whatever herbs you decide upon into the jar. (You don’t even have to use any, but it helps a bunch) Carefully light a tealight candle and drop it into the jar, then screw the lid closed. This is going to cause the candle to become extinguished within about 10 seconds due to it’s lack of air. Stare at the candle intently until it burns out, visualising the candle burning through all the remaining air in the jar. Think now of yourself as the candle and the air the work you need to get done fast. Imagine how you will burn through the work until none is left just as quickly as the candle burned away all the air. Finally, get the candle out of the jar again and relight it, then put it back in. This time leave the lid off so it can breathe. Sit it on your desk while you prepare for school. The flame will then become your helpful companion, serving as a gentle but firm reminder everytime you see it.
Fire is the element of productivity and fast action. Or for lack of a better term, the ‘get your shit done’ element. So make sure you ask the element to help strengthen your resolve and thank it for the guidance it will give you!
Spell Craft by VioletWitchcraft is another new weekly series. Every week I will ask my followers what spell they feel they need in their lives, and then I will create one. For more custom spells made with you in mind come back every Sunday for the next instalment. If you leave a request on what spell I should do before Saturday night you may be picked! With the school season well started, this little bottle is meant to bring focus back to your important tasks/ goals/ studies. Doesn’t have to be for those who are going back to school, but anyone who needs to re-focus!
Salt
Rosemary
Basil
Lavender
Peppermint
Blue Glitter
Salt to clear away any disrupting thoughts.
Rosemary to clear your mind and bring clarity.
Basil to prevent mental fatigue.
Lavender to ease the mind and reduce anxiety.
Peppermint to stimulate the mind and boost your energy for that last push.
Blue glitter to catch your attention, inspire positivity and refocus.
When you find your mind wandering away from your task, pull this little bottle out and give it a nice shake (it doesn’t smell too bad either!). Take some deep breaths, clear your mind (however works best for you), focus on the bottle while thinking about your task. It’s not so bad/ daunting/ boring. You can do it and you’ll knock it out of the park. Once it’s done it’ll be over and you can move on to other things you might want to do more.
This is meant to be a super simple, very quick, practical bottle. It was made with school in mind (for my husband who is going back to school, specifically), but of course can be used for any sort of task you may need to spend time and effort doing.
There is no liquid, so it’s not quite like those cool swirly glitter bottles. It’s just dry ingredients with a fair amount of glitter. The jar is full, but not packed. It took some experimenting with to get the glitter showing well even after shaking.
Because I thought the smell was also quite helpful, I didn’t seal it with wax.
Let me know if you try this, or what you change to make it your own! I always enjoy seeing other people’s creations!
