witcheyez:

my first spell jar!! i made this to help my sister sleep, because she often has trouble with nightmares and such.

gather:
-sage
-sea salt
-thyme
-lavender {i used the leaves, not the flowers}
-rosemary {i used both fresh and dried}
-bay leaves
-amethyst
-quartz
-small piece of paper + pen

optional:
-blue thread {to bind the paper + decorate jar}
-blue wax to seal
-lavender oil

i layered the ingredients, with each layer i focused on my intent to help sophie. i drew a sigil for a peaceful sleep on the paper in blue pen, and then rolled it up and tied it with the blue thread. i also carved the sigil in the wax i sealed the jar with, and then rubbed some lavender oil on it to bless it, and create a soothing scent. hope you like.

this is my very first spell jar and i hope it helps my sister!šŸ’™

Everyday Helper Spell Jar

kaitsleepswithblackcats:

Yesterday I went to an art festival and met a really wonderful artist who makes hand blown glass pieces. I purchased one of her unique necklaces.

I very quickly knew exactly what I wanted to put inside; a spell to help me through my everyday life.Ā

For this spell you will need:

– hematite
– aquamarine
– breciated jasper
(I found all these jars at a crystal shop in salem)

– rose petals
– dried rosemary
(any rosemary and rose petals will work)
– A jar to put the ingredients in (or a pouch)
– Mortal and pestle

The reasons are:
1. Hematite helps aid in protection, grounding and warding off negativity.
2. Aquamarine reduces fear and mental tension. ( I was also born in march and this is one of the crystals that responds to that)
3. Jasper increases physical endurance and wards of dehydration. It is also connected to the root chakra which helps with grounding.
4. Rose petals increase psychic power and aids in protection and healing.
5. Rosemary keeps the mind alert while also helping heal headaches and depression.

First you will want to add the rose and rosemary to the mortal and pestle. When adding the rose, say out loud:

This rose will help keep me safe.

When adding the rosemary, chant:

This rosemary will keep away the demons.

Once they are crushed up, carefully add them to the jar. I used a small piece of paper and rolled it to use as a funnel.

Next you will want to prepare your crystals. I didn’t use a specific amount, just an amount that I knew would fit into the jar I was using.

Lastly, after all the items are in the jar. I placed the cork back in and sealed it with a kiss.

This jar can switch out the crystals to whatever would fit with your life better. I chose these ingredients to help me fight through my every day anxiety and depression. I hope this will also help others.

Warding Jar Spell

boneprinces:

Hey, it’s the next part of my jar spell series! Warding and protection is super duper important when working with witchcraft and spirits in general. I designed these spells specifically for strong protection and I charged them with the specific intent I wanted. This little bottle can be jam packed with power if you charge it well, and the larger the capsule is, the more you can get.

For this spell, I used…

  • crushed bay leaves (protection, psychic power)
  • sea salt (purification, cleansing, protection)Ā
  • sage herb (purification, psychic power, protection)
  • cloves powder (protection, banishing hostile forces)
  • rosemary herb (purification, psychic power)
  • peridot chips (strength)
  • tigers eye chips (protection & strength)
  • amethyst chips (purification, cleansing)
  • turquoise chips (protection, wards off psychic attack)

Feel free to use as many of these ingredients or as few as you like; substitute items, replace them, and add your own! Let me know how it goes ā¤ļøā¤ļø

Jar Alternatives

divineshadow13:

While many of us have a plethora of jars, not everyone does. I know I couldn’t use jars in spellwork when I was practicing as a minor. Maybe, you’re a student, living with others, or still in the ā€œbroom closetā€, either way here is a list of alternative ideas to jars.

1. Christmas Ornaments
(The clear Christmas bulbs you can put things inside of are great for fitting in small crystals and herbs!)

2. Boxes
(I’ve used a small gift box before and filled it with herbs and intent, the box could be any size you want [even a ring box])

3. A Casette Case
(These may not be as common anymore [You may still be able to find at a thrift shop. but I personally like the aesthetic. You can take a lighter to seal it shut or add candle wax if you’d like to use in place of a Witch Bottle.)

4. A Juice/Pop Bottle (Personally, I’d choose something like a Snapple bottle if I were to go this route)

5. Shot bottles
(I found some littered about town when I was 18 and actually used one to store sand I ended up using for putting out my sage. If you’re under 18, I don’t suggest upcycling shot bottles found littered about. If you’re of legal age to buy alcohol, this is another way to upcycle.)

6. Gumball machines
(I remember for my birthday one year, my mom had me decorate a mini gumball machine. You could use it magically as well. You can buy things to make them from dollar tree. You’ll need a terra cotta pot and dish as well as a fish bowl. Turn the pot upside down, glue the bowl to it and place the terra cotta dish on top as a lid. Decorate as you will. I think this would be awesome for something to do with promoting happiness, prosperity, and the like.)

7. Sachets

8. Books
( You can get one of those stash boxes that look like books OR if you’re crafty, take a damaged book and cut into and turn into into a stash box.)

9. Stash Cans
(If you need to be discreet, you can purchase a marijuana stash can. They sell ones that look like Arizona Tea cans on Amazon.)

10. Locket
(There isn’t very much space but you can still fill it with a pinch of herbs and intent.)

11.A Coin Purse
(I had one somewhere…possibly stolen or thrown out… That I used for a set of runes I made out of deer antler buttons. They’re perfect for holding small things like crystals too!)

12.
Zip-lock bags
(This isn’t as creative as other items on the list but it gets the job done.)

13. Witch’s Bottle Necklace
(Okay, so this is still using jars technically. However, it’s easy to make it look more like a fashion statement than a spell. )

14. Sea shells
(They come in many shapes and sizes. You may not be able to close unless you have a whole clam, but they do look pretty and many people do collect sea shells.)

15. Tins
(You can re-use an old Altoids tin. You can purchase tins from Mountain Rose Herbs. They’re convenient if you’re on the go. They can be used as travel altars, containers for crystal chips, feathers, odds and ends, herbs, etc. )

solitary-green-witch:

I want the job, I’m going to get the job.

šŸ”® coffee grounds- for feeling energized and standing out

šŸ”® lavender- to ease my anxiety

šŸ”® rose petals- for confidence and to remind myself that I am a badass witch and I got this!

šŸ”® sunflower seeds- because sunflowers make me happy and calm

šŸ”® clear quartz- for calmness

šŸ”® citrine- to show that I am creative and the right person for the job

šŸ”® rose quartz- for positivity

šŸ”® a bay leaf- I can not burn them in my apartment, so instead I wrote ā€œjob at _____ā€ and repeated ā€œI want the job, I’m going to get the jobā€ as I crumpled the leaf up and placed it in the jar

šŸ”® cinnamon- to add that extra zing that will make the interviewer remember me

šŸ”® finally, I sealed off the jar with a green candle to represent money and work. I repeated ā€œI want the job, I’m going to get the jobā€

This one actually required a lil bit of guts to post because while this works for me, I’m just starting to branch out of the research phase of witchcraft and starting to do my own practice, but I’m still petrified of doing things ā€œwrong.ā€ That disclaimer aside, I’m gonna explain what I’ve been working on and experimenting with.

So I’ve been making spell jars with candles on top lately. The idea here is that the spell jar is harnessing the energy of its contents when the candle is burning. That’s my intention for it anyway, and it seems to be working quite well.

This particular one I made today for the purpose of cleansing residual energy after I’ve helped a spirit cross over. I’ve had some issues with spirits in my apartment lately so that’s the reason for this.

It contains:
šŸ’§Stream Water (for cleansing)
šŸ’§Swamp Water (for banishing)
🌱Juniper leaves + berries (for cleansing and protection against malignant forces)
šŸƒ Violet Leaves (protection against evil)

(Also I’m totally aware that the ingredients list in my grimoire includes sage. I just forgot to add the sage before I sealed it lol).

I tried it out and it works pretty well. After I helped this one spirit cross over, I left it burning where she was standing for a few minutes and the residual energy was lessened but not gone. I’d imagine I’d need to let it burn for longer.

Anyway this was a little insight into my current practice. Maybe it could serve as an idea for someone else, or maybe I’m about to get roasted. I don’t really know.

Either way, thanks for reading ā˜ŗļø
