In my Hindu project based on the reincarnation of Hindu God and Goddess the women characters have the spirit, love, passion and strength for one another to defend what is right and each other.
1. Durga and Lakshmi
2. Kali and Parvati
3. Saraswati and Hanuman
the rest are concept art of certain characters. hope you enjoy!
A polyculture farming system, growing undersea crops and rearing shellfish, which uses the full depth of the water column. This is currently the most sustainable means of farming in the world, requiring little work or input. The sea plants also effectively filter the water, sequester carbon, help rebuild damaged undersea ecosystems, and improve biodiversity.
“We have to tell a story, a helpful story about the future. You know, it’s all bad news about climate change and food security. I think out here we can say our oceans are a blank slate and we really have a chance to really build something new, and build something from the bottom up that’s sustainable and restorative and doesn’t make all the mistakes of industrial agriculture or aquaculture.” – Bren Smith, Ocean Farmer
So I thought I would make a jar of mermaid dust to bring along with me wherever I go, also to put in my travel altar!
The point of it is to feel like I always have a little bit of the beach/ocean with me, as well as feeling close to my kin! 🐬
So here’s what’s in it:
✯(dry) beach sand
✯crushed various seashells I found myself
✯sea salt
✯incense ash
✯(dry) seaweed
How I made it:
✯spend a day at the beach 🏖
✯crush the seashells with either a mortar if you have one, or just use a rock (please be careful you get all the pieces as they could give you a nasty scrape on the foot if you step on it!)
✯mix in the sand, shell pieces, salt, ashes and seaweed (I bought mine at the grocery store!)
✯seal with wax if needed, or if you have a jar with a cork like mine, you’re good to go!
Happy swimming (: 🐚🐬🌊
Bonus: if you’re an Extra Sea Witch™, use a sea shell to scoop out your ingredients!
Planters are in the shop! I went ahead and put this forest planter up along with the patina one I posted earlier. Only one of each are available at emilysculpts.com
