Flowercorrespondences– can be used as decoration, for flower crowns, as a fun nature activity (collecting them respectfully, of course), and edible flowers can be used for deserts, drinks, and salads!
Desserts- hereās some witchy dessert recipes, perfect for any picnic!
Locations- fun witchy locations for picnics include:
š¹a botanical garden, floral garden, or any sort of garden (perfect for fae, floral, air, green, life, spring, and summer witchcraft)
āļøa sunny open field/area (probably has wild flowers!, great for air, sun, floral, and weather witchcraft)
šāa night picnic under the stars and moon! (Perfect for lunar, nocturnal, and cosmic witchcraft)
š³a park (great for all witchcraft, very versatile)
šš§a beach, pond, lake or near any body of water (perfect for water, sea, and love witchcraft)
š»a cemetery (perfect for death, spirit, medium, and floral witchcraft. Just make sure itās allowed and youāre respectful of graves)
š²A forest (perfect for forest, tree, nature, green, earth, and hedge witchcraft, hereās some tree correspondences)
Other witchy picnic ideas:
Stones/crystals to bring– it depends a lot on location and the general theme of the picnic! But a few favorites of mine are:
rose quartz, opalite, any aura quartz, sunstone, agate, tigers eye, and selenite (especially peach selenite)
Scents– I like to focus on scents a lot during picnics. It can make the experience so much more enjoyable! Location once again plays a huge role, but you can always spray your picnic blanket with essential oils, use strongly scented herbs or flowers, use a specific perfume, or even a specific tea that smells good. Some scents I like to focus on during picnics are:
lemon, orange, grapefruit, lemongrass, strawberry, orange blossom, gardenia, rose and lavender
Bring some little spells or offerings with you! A picnic in nature is the perfect time to do a little crafting, especially love, self care, fae, peace and happiness spells. And you can correspond your picnic with the intent of the spell!
Itās also a great time for devotional offerings and any other offerings, especially fae offerings.
Put together a picnic spell- an entire picnic can be a spell! Everything from location, to drinks, to food, and the extra stuff you bring along can be in it.
You may have heard of water scrying, mirror scrying, and maybe even cloud scrying, but I have discovered my own new favorite type of scrying that I would like to share with everyone; storm scrying! How does one storm scry, you ask? Well, letās take a look at my personal definition:
Storm Scrying ~ A type of divination in which the practicer observes movements in storm cloud formation over a weather radar to find shapes, symbols, or figures, and uses them to assume or predict a specific message or outcome.Ā
Now, onto the how-to. Firstly, youāre going to need either the smart phone app iRadar, or a weather radar computer application. For desktop, I recommend trying AccuWeather.comĀ ~ Both the app and website are free to use, though I personally prefer the smart phone app because it actively tracks the movement of the clouds and wind currents, and it would be easier to take screenshots to save for later; whereas the website does not show animated movement.Ā
Before opening up whatever application you will be using to scry, focus on the general area of advice you wish to seek guidance upon; For example, if youāre going through a difficult time with your friendships, think of the general friendship area of your life. Clearly bring the matter upon which youād like to scry for into the forefront of your mind, clearing out all other intrusive or scattered thoughts that pop up until your single area of guidance is all that remains.
Now, there are a few different ways you can perform the actual activity of scrying:
āĀ 1. Close your eyes and focus on your area of guidance, scroll around the screen, and click/double tap a random location. Work with whatever clouds or storms may be in the surrounding area.Ā
āĀ 2. Scry using the local weather for the state, province, city or county where you live. If you are scrying to find an answer that involves another person, try using the weather in their location as well.Ā
ā 3. Categorize the radar map into differentĀ āsectorsā that represent different areas in your life / different types of questions. You could separate them into areas for love, wealth, fortune, health, opportunity, work, personal life, relationships, friendships, practices, etc. Whatever storms happen to be in each sector whenever you scry are what you have to work with for the guidance you seek in that particular area.Ā
Along these lines, Iāve left the rest open to you! You can choose to scry following my basic techniques, or get more detailed ~ Perhaps by associating a meaning with each color (The color of each cloud formation shows the severity and thickness of an area of the storm) or doing one general scrying session in parts over a series of days (as there will be some days areas will be without storm formations on the radar).
Hopefully my scrying technique will be something popular among other witches, weather-oriented or not, as Iād love to see what new techniques arise from my idea! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to message me or send an ask ~ Thank you for readingĀ ā½ā”ā¾
Non-heterosexual terms for attraction to describe your love š
(disclaimer: labels and terms like these are not made up of a strict set of rules and gender restrictions. Terms can be helpful for a lot of people to describe their attraction but it is not a requirement. please let me know if I have any information wrong or anything needs clarifying, i am not necessarily intending to speak for the whole community, just trying to help people find the words to describe their love in one easy text post)
š Sapphic – also sometimes referred to as wlw (women who love women), it is typically the attraction between a woman, lunarian, or fem aligned person and another woman, lunarian or fem aligned person. It does not need to be exclusive (e.g. can be used by people who are attracted to multi genders also). Originates from the Greek poet Sappho, a bisexual woman from the Isle of Lesbos, from which we get the termĀ lesbian. Example: a bisexual transwoman and a lesbian fall in love. They are both sapphic. š
ā Achillean – also sometimes referred to as mlm (men who love men), it is typically the attraction between a man, solarian or masc aligned person and another man, solarian or masc aligned person. It does not need to be exclusive (e.g. can be used by people who are attracted to multi genders also). Comes from the Greek hero Achilles, who was well-known for having male lovers.Ā Example: a genderfluid person who identifies partially as a man is romantically involved with a bisexual man. Their love is achillean.Similarly, a gay or bisexual man may describe himself as achillean. ā
š Enbian – also sometimes referred to as nblnb (a non-binary person who loves non-binary people), it is typically the attraction between a non-binary person and another non-binary person. It does not need to be exclusive (e.g. can be used by people who are attracted to multi genders also). Example: A pansexual non-binary person finds a fellow non-binary person attractive. They are enbian. š
š Trixic/Orbsian – also sometimes referred to as nblw (a non-binary person who loves women), it is typically the attraction between a non-binary person and woman, lunarian or fem aligned person. It does not need to be exclusive (e.g. can be used by people who are attracted to multi genders also). Example: a pansexual non-binary person is marrying a bisexual woman. Their relationship is trixic. š
āļø Toric/Quadrisian – also sometimes referred to as nblm (a non-binary person who loves men), it is typically the attraction between a non-binary person and man, solarian or masc aligned person. It does not need to be exclusive (e.g. can be used by people who are attracted to multi genders also). Example: the relationship between a non-binary person and a polysexual man could be described as toric! āļø
š Diamoric – also sometimes referred to nblnb, nblw or nblm, it is typically the attraction between either a non-binary person and another non-binary person, or to any attraction or relationship that cannot be considered straight or gay because it involves at least one non-binary person. Example: a relationship between a genderfluid person and a non-binary person could be called diamoric. The love between an asexual woman and a bisexual non-binary person could also be described as diamoric. š
Witch Tip: If you live in an area thatās getting chillier these next few months, take a second to look at your breath when you step outside. Use it as a visualization tool. Breathe in, imagine any built-up negative energy or anything else youād like to banish swirling into your lungs, then breathe out and watch it fade away.
This is a wonderful post, OP ššš As someone who does a lot of breath cleansing between light uses of various tools and crystals, Iām always advocating for breath as a deeply important, personal extension of oneās magical energy! Words that many of us already associate with this energy – spirit and soul – actually come from the Latin roots spiritus and anima, respectively. Spiritus meant both āspiritā and ābreath,ā while anima similarly was used to mean any of the following: air; breathing; life; soul, spirit, Ā vital principle; wind, breeze. Whatās really incredible though, is that the Grecian, Hebrew, Semitic, and Arabic equivalents follow analogous etymologies, and those are just the examples I personally know of offhand. Even the number of deities that are said to have breathed life into the earth/humans is impressive. The human race has been associating our breath with the deepest, most sacred parts of ourselves, places that we consider to in fact make us who we are as individuals, for millennia, across cultures, languages, and religions. I canāt possibly stress the power of your breath in your magic enough! Itās why so much of magic is spoken aloud, when weāre able to do so!
Iām still just blown away that some people like legit think that techno magic isnāt ~real~ magic because they decided that it canāt transmit energy??
Like why are people like this.Ā
See, one of the giant reasons I consider techno magic to be so incredibly in-tune with what magic is is because the transmission methods are actually so similar!
Both have a form of energy, whether it be electricity or the life/universal energy that you typically imagine when magic is involved. Both go from point A to point B. Both can drastically affect the subjects of your magic – think the similarities between casting a positivity for a friend, and sending them a nice and uplifting message. Now think of sending your friend a nice and uplifting message with a positivity spell woven in – thatās like a big twofold effect and itās efficient.
Not to mention people develop their own rituals in technology too, such as using a specific emoji with a certain person. These start to form into their own little spells – my girlfriend and I use our zodiac signs as nicknames so whenever we want to symbolize something like appreciation or aĀ ākissā we put the otherās zodiac symbol after the respective emoji, which works along the same lines as a tagged love/happiness charm
Thereās the whole idea of life/universal energy acting in a cycle and essentially connecting everything in a big web – well, technology does that too! Anyone who has a computer or a phone can tap into it, and that just adds another branch. Itās as huge and as vast and as incomprehensible as the life/universal energy model is, just a slightly different method of execution
In basic terms techno magic works the exact same way as what people like to think of asĀ ātraditionalā magic does, just over a different medium and honestly I think the implications and possibilities that open are wonderful
Iāll fight people who say tech magic isnāt real Iāll fight them -Ace
If you are a necromancer chances are that you have worked with your ancestors from time to time. This likely involved altar work or samhain rituals. But how does one involve them to a greater extent in your magical practice?
Here are some suggestions:
If you are in the armed forces or a police officer, ask your ancestors to bless your weapon, not to kill but to aim true. The same can be done with sporting implements if you play. Your baseball bat is now lucky for a reason.
If you are having trouble with a particular individual and anger is flaring, ask your ancestors to intercede on your behalf. When spirits whisper to no-practitioners the targeted individual almost always considers it their thought. Especially if they donāt believe. Repeated āhuman whisperingā can often influence an outcome.
The whispering ability can also be used in any occasion where influence is required. Seduction, Truth-Seeking, Positive Political Influence, Heading Off Bad Decisions, etc. This a subtle yet powerful tool in the necromancerās toolkit. Be sure to thank your folks though.
Your ancestors also possess the wisdom of the ages. Ask them to council you before making that next big step. Being dead some of them are outside time and can see possible futures. Others possess great wisdom and experience. Listen to them when they whisper to you.
Ancestors also often guard their descendents against threats of a spiritual nature or can be asked to do so. They will protect your children when they leave for college. They will protect your dying parent and ease their passing. A ancestor can also Shout on occasions where their descendants are in danger. This can prevent vehicular accidents in particular.
Lastly when danger arises, call upon your ancestors for strength and speed and you will do some amazing things.
While Iām no expert on plant spirits I thought Iād make my own posts about themĀ
Trees have spirits, all plants do, the only question is do they want to work with you?Ā
Look at the trees, which ones feel inviting and which ones feel hollow or empty?Ā
If there is a park near you, or theres trees in your backyard, I urge you to go see them.
Sit with them, talk to them (mentally or verbally) and even if you canāt hear them at first, they hear you.Ā
If you want to give them a gift, try pouring some water at the base of the tree before you leave, the only water trees get (that isnt in the earth for the most part) is rain.
When you feel like a bond is forming, try keeping your hand on the tree while you talk to it/them, see if you can find the pulse of the tree, see if it gets warmer or colder when you talk to it.
All relationships take time, donāt rush things because if you donāt build a relationship with a person or spirit too quickly the foundation of it will be unsteady.
inspired by the play hamilton, a spell to give you motivation like alexanderās.
Why do you write like youāre running out of time? Write day and night like youāre running out of time? Evāry day you fight, like youāre running out of time Keep on fighting. In the meantimeā
ā° Ā gather: aventurine or quartz, bay leaf, coffee, and consumable storm water
ā° Ā use storm water and coffee to brew a cup of coffee.Ā
ā° Ā charge the coffee with the aventurine above it.Ā
ā° Ā sprinkle bits of bayleaf into the drink. strain if you want.Ā
ā° Ā if you donāt want to drink it, dab droplets of the potion on your wrists and behind your ears.Ā Ā
* for consumable storm water, rather than collect water from a storm, set out a sealed bottle of water in the rain, charging in the storm. clean off before use. collected storm water can be full of bacteria and atmospheric pollution and shouldnāt be consumed unless properly purified.Ā
When hoodoo was created, most of the people using it did not have ready access to the best ingredients and often had to hide their practice. Consequently, a lot of what was used had to be things people could obtain. This is why hoodoo uses various roots, sticks, herbs, honey, sugar, and other household supplies readily available. There is no exception for dirt. Different kind of dirt is used for different kind of things but some examples include:
Dirt from the crossroads: used for many things including hexing/cursing, summoning certain spirits, opening roads, etc.
Dirt from a bank: Most commonly used in money work. I swear by bank dirt. It adds so much potency to money workings and every time I have used it I have gotten great results. Could also be used in works to get a loan, get approved for a house, relieve debt, etc.
Dirt from a church: This is usually used for works that have to do with cleansing, healing, or otherwise āholyā matters.
Graveyard dirt: A staple in hoodoo, used for many different things including curses, healing, ancestor work, goofer dust, hot foot powder, etc.
Some of these are examples of thingsĀ that have been used traditionally and throughout hoodooās history. However, all types of folk magick utilize whatever you have.
I have in the past used dirt from a car dealership(to obtain a car), dirt from a red ant farm(defensive/hexing), dirt from a destroyed/abandoned building(defensive/hexing), and dirt from a specific apartment complex I wanted to live in. *not all of these are my ideas, but some of them are*Ā
Folk Magick is and was about using whatever you have around you, and often whatever cost less. Do not ever feel like you canāt do effective, life changing magick with twigs and leaves. You can. Our ancestors did, you can too.
