Back in middle school, my friends and I used a very simple coded language for writing secret messages. I saw some posts about needing to hide one’s beliefs from partners/bosses/parents so I wanted to share it with you! These would also be great to incorporate into sigils since they are simple lines and dots.
I recently posted a sigil for boosting and it sparked a lot of curiosity in regards to my method, so I will explain. The original method was described on runesoup, but I’ve expanded it a bit, as I am wont to do. Please excuse the grodiness of my keyboard- its old and has been present for many studio-related incidents.
The first thing you do is decide what you’re trying to communicate. In this case its a matter of deadlines.
Which is currently sideways because of mobile. I like my statements to be in the present tense and commanding.
Now cross out all the vowels.
And now any letters that repeat
You now have your statement reduced to basic letters. Now decide on a basic shape. This is where your personal symbolism comes into play. Because this is meant to increase productivity, I choose an upright triangle as the basic shape. This is where we get creative. Placement of the letters can be a hard place to start, so I start looking for letter combinations that have their own symbolism. In this instance, I combine the M and W on top of each other to create an infinity symbol
Just keep adding letters until you’ve used them all up.
And emphasize them with a pen or marker.
You now have the base symbol for meeting deadlines. Because I did not keep the outline of the triangle, I can use this to make more specific sigils. This is where I deviate from the method that runesoup outlined for me. Now take your more specific goal and repeat the first few steps:
reduce these to single consonants again and place them outside of the base sigil
And now we have a unique, really awesome sigil for a specific goal. I personally like having single-use sigils because I feel that if they wear out quickly, there isn’t much riding on one little squiggle to do all the work.
And that’s the thing. Go cause some mayhem or whatever it is you kids do today.
This
potion-ritual can be used when working to acquire a new home or residence. Do
not ingest. Keep the potion requests coming! This is a lot of fun for me! If
you’ve already submitted a request, worry not! I will get to them all!
Supplies Needed:
–
Boling crucible
–
Glass vial
–
Small mojo bag
–
Fireproof dish (optional)
–
Sieve
Ingredients
Needed:
–
A pint of water
–
A pinch of salt
–
A small stone from the desired
dwelling
–
A teaspoon of dirt from the dwelling
–
An old key that has touched the lock
of the dwelling.
–
A jade leaf
–
A grain of rice for each housemate
–
A silver coin
–
A feather from a bird of flight
–
A personal item for each housemate
(lock of hair, fingernail, drop of blood, or saliva)
Instructions
1. Bring the water to a boil.
2.
Contribute the salt.
3. Add the stone from your desired
dwelling.
4. Add the dirt from the dwelling.
5. Add the key
6.
Contribute the jade leaf.
7.
Add the silver coin.
8.
Contribute the rice.
9.
Add the feather.
10. Last,
add the personal item of each housemate.
Allow the brew to
boil and bubble while concentrating on your goal. When the concentration can no
longer be held in the mind’s eye, remove the brew from the fire and allow it to
cool. Once cool, filter the liquid through the sieve into the vial and remove
the stone, coin, and key and secure them in the mojo bag. Take the vial to the
dwelling and use the potion to anoint the threshold. Leave behind the mojo bag
with the stone, coin and key, taking care to hide it somewhere out of sight and
out of mind. Turn away and do not look back.
If you are moving out of state and visiting the dwelling to carry out this
potion-ritual isn’t possible, this working can still be carried out with ease.
Write the address of the desired dwelling on a slip of paper and burn it.
Contribute the ashes to the brew, saving a bit to rub into the key and the
stone. A small portion of ashes can be mixed into a measure of dirt from any
location and this used in place of dirt from your desired dwelling.
Analysis
The symbolism of
the above mentioned potion ingredients are pretty obvious. First, the salt is a
symbol of the earth which is manifestation and the ground on which we build our
shelters. The key, dirt, and stone are all links to the home that is sought.
The jade leaf is a common plant that is often kept in the home to encourage
luck. A silver coin is added to ensure financial requirements for the home are
satisfied. The grains of rice are added to keep each housemate from going
hungry and the personal items are added to tie the home to those that seek it.
It just occurred to me that if you have a tea infuser like the one pictured above, you could totally use it as a pendulum.
OOOOOOOOOOHHH YOU COULD PUT CORRESPONDING HERBS IN IT LIKE THINGS THAT HAVE TO DO WITH DIVINATION OR YOUR QUESTION
OMG YOU COULD PUT THE QUESTION INSIDE IT
YOU COULD PUT THINGS INSIDE IT YOU COULD PUT THIINNGSSS
THINNNGSSSS
exactly
this could also be used as a way to infuse herbs in your bath without clogging anything up.
I like your style.
I had to create a whole new tag for this post. This is literally the kind of thing I want to compile for a “family witchery” collection. Just, like, easy and daily witchery. *hand flail* Yessss
I’ve had this in my kitchen drawer for years and never thought of this omg!
is it possible to put good energy into a necklace? i want to buy my friend a necklace, im new to all this, im wondering how can i put good energies into it? im not sure what its called either hh
Yes this is absolutely possible. I do it all the time. Magic users generally call this enchanting.
I have a formula for enchanting a piece of jewelry that can be used for almost any intent. (I know it seems like a lot to do, but it really isn’t that complicated or hard to perform; I’m just really thorough and focus on details, and most of this is just prep.)
Jewelry Enchantment Spell
Preparation / Set-Up
Think about the kinds of energies or properties you want to enchant the jewelry with (happiness, peace, positivity, calming, etc.).
Create a sigil that matches your intent; an example would be “this [jewelry] is charged with the potent energies of [intent],” but feel free to come up with something that suits you better. (For extra energy, draw the sigil in a color that matches your intent; “default” is black.)
Determine what crystals match your intent. Pick four of one crystal, or two of two different kinds of crystals. Personal correspondences are also important. If you do not have crystals, or do not wish to use them, feel free to leave them out.
Pick at least three herbs that correlate to your intent, though you may use more if you wish; you will also need sea salt. Dried would be optimal, as you will be burying the piece of jewelry in them. Personal correspondences are also important.
If you feel it is necessary, cleanse your piece of jewelry (or yourself) before you begin.
Performing the Spell
Prep for spellwork in the way you normally do (meditate, cleanse your space, cast a circle, set up your altar / workspace, invoke any deities / spirits, light candles or incense, play mood-setting music, etc.).
Draw a circle on a piece of paper, large enough to fit a medium size bowl (a cereal bowl works fine). In the center of the drawn circle, draw your sigil. Place your bowl over the sigil. Place your candles at the top, bottom, left and right of the circle. If you wanted to use crystals, put one between each of the candles; if you used two different types of crystals, place the matching ones across from each other diagonally. Your set up should look something like this:
If you wish to, draw the squares connecting the candles to each other, and the crystals if you used them, though it isn’t necessary.
Light your candles. If you used crystals, pick them up (individually or as a group), and charge them with your intent. Take as long as you feel is necessary.
Set the piece of jewelry in the bowl. Prepare your herbs to be added – you will want equal parts of each herb and the sea salt, enough to cover the jewelry completely when it’s in the bowl. As you hold each herb in your hand, before adding it to the bowl, state its purpose, and fill it with your intent.
Once all the herbs are in the bowl, use your dominant hand to stir the ingredients clockwise. Channel your energy and intent towards your desire into the herbs and the jewelry itself. Visualize what things might be like with more of that attribute present in your life.
Continue this for as long as you think is necessary, however long until you feel the jewelry is adequately charged. Remove the jewelry, and wipe any herbs or powder from it with a dry cloth. Blow out the candles, then dispose of the rest of the herbs. (You can also keep them for use in other spells relating to your intent.)
Recharge the jewelry once a month, either with the same method, or purely with your own energy.
Floriography
is an ancient art, but most of what you’ll find in dictionaries is
Victorian Flower language. I would also suggest looking into period
appropriate political and religious symbols. Due to the minor issue of
illiteracy people in power used symbols to indicate everyone from the
apostles to the local liege. Best of luck!
