* Culinary lavender is lavender harvested for the purposes of cooking/eating. Please don’t buy the perfumed air-freshening kind because that is going to be utterly gross. Steep the lavender in 2 cups of boiling water for 15 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve and discard the lavender. Place the lavender tea and the sugar in a small saucepan and set over high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves (you don’t have to put it over heat, but I do this because I’m impatient and want the sugar to dissolve faster and completely). Remove from heat and let cool to warm. Stir in the lemon juice. Stir in the cold water. Add more to taste. I prefer to keep mine on the concentrated side because I like to mix it with seltzer water when I serve it. Serve over ice. Makes about 6-8 cups depending on how dilute you want it.
My friend actually made lavender lemonade before and it’s delicious. Not sure if this is the same recipe, but stillllll
sorry this took me so long to post. I know the full moon and the solstice are already over, I just wanted to put this recipe out there because I made it for the first time and it was really good 🙂 -picture by me-
CAKE: ~Ingredients~ 1 cup butter (softened) 1 cup honey (I used raw local honey) 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour 3 eggs
1.) cream the butter and honey, then add the eggs. 2.) add the flour ½ cup at a time. 3.) pour into a greased 8 inch cake pan (I used a loaf pan) 4.) bake at 350 for about 45-50 minutes, until a skewer comes out clean.
Things have been crazy lately so I just wanted to take a moment and remind you to love yourself because you are important! No matter who you are or where you come from! Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise!
I decided to make a step by step “How-to Jenny’s Witchy Brew” for Self Love ~ Rose Soy Milk Tea ❤
Things you will need:
–Rose Tea: I get mine at 99 Ranch Market but it’s essentially just dried rose hips so if you have rose hips that you can dry out, that will work too! You will want to use 6-8 rose buds, the more you add the stronger the flavor!
–Organic Soy Milk: This can be regular milk or almond milk, I prefer unsweetened organic soy milk. If you decide to use soy make sure it’s organic! Brands such as ‘Silk’ isn’t good, even if they claim it’s organic, for some reason it burns and wont cook right. It’s gotta be the real deal! For this recipe you only need 1 cup.
–Honey: Any kind of organic honey will do, if you have herbal honey that’s even better for adding more florals to your tea! I usually add about 2-3 teaspoons, but feel free to add to taste!
–Cinnamon & Nutmeg: This is optional! I like to add just a pinch of both spices to add a little kick to my tea. If you don’t care for spice try ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract instead!
–Sugar: This is also optional, I like my tea to be a little on the sweet side & since we are using organic unsweetened soy milk it helps to really sweeten it up! I only use barely a ½ teaspoon, but just add to taste!
–Small Pot
–Mesh Strainer: For removing the flowers once it’s cooked.
–Your Favorite Mug! Mine is a black mug with my astrological sign gold leafed into it!
Before starting, take a moment to close your eyes, clear your mind, breathe deeply through your nose and slowly release through your mouth (do this a few times). Visualize letting go of any negativity or weight you may be carrying on your shoulders…now…
❤ LET’S GET BREWING! ❤
1- Pour soy milk into pot, turn heat on low
2- Add rose tea, gently crumble a couple of the buds
3- Add cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar
4- Add desired amount of honey; while you slowly drizzle it in feel free to draw symbols with it such as hearts or infinity symbols- whatever you feel is right for helping to instill your manifestations of self love into your tea!
5- Stir your brew clockwise! While slowly stirring visualize the self love that this tea will bring you & say some positive affirmations about yourself such as:
“I love the person I am, I am strong & caring, I am creative, I am beautiful inside and out…” say whatever best suits your needs for self love and take a moment to appreciate the wonderful person you are! ❤
6- Let your tea brew for approximately 10 minutes on low stirring occasionally to prevent scorching. DON’T LET IT BOIL! You want to create an infusion of the flowers which means a longer slower heating process. Boiling will mean scorching the flowers and milk!
7- You’ll notice the rose buds will begin to loose their color, remove your brew from the heat to let it cool and allow the tea to steep for about 3 minutes.
8- Remove roses with mesh strainer and compost.
Enjoy!
As you drink, visualize your tea as a pink white healing light of love and remember your affirmations taking deep breaths in-between each sip! ❤
I hope you all enjoyed this & that your tea was delicious & full of positive energy! Feel free to try making this with other flowers which have different properties such as: lavender & chamomile for happiness and relaxation!
My favorite sort of love has always been the kind that feels exceptionally indulgent and luxurious. Like taking a warm bath with a glass of champagne by candlelight. I wanted to embody that sort of indulgence with this spell and it’s that exact sort of love that it will attract. It’s rich and velvety and hell, it combines chocolate and wine! What more could you want?
As always, preparation for spells is up to the witch. Cast your circles, consecrate your spoons, cleanse your stove, whatever it is you do.
Red Wine Hot Chocolate
1 ½ C Milk
1 C Red Wine ( I used Apothic Red, any red wine with dark fruity flavors works well though)
1/3 C Dark Chocolate Chips
1 Cinnamon Stick (optional)
In a saucepan over medium heat combine the milk, chocolate and cinnamon stick. Whisk until the chocolate is melted and you have a thick hot chocolate. Add the red wine and continue whisking until it’s hot. Remove the cinnamon stick and serve.
The intention in the preparation is important, of course, but the magic is in drinking it. Turn off any distractions and set aside your responsibilities. Get cozy, put on some music and sip your hot chocolate slowly. Savor it, spoil yourself, let that indulgent pleasure envelop you.
This spell can also be altered quite easily to foster self love instead of new love. Simply adjust the intention and get to loving yourself.
One of the easiest and most heartwarming recipes for a kitchen witch, soups! Their recipes are easily manipulated to suit your intention, plus they’re perfect for the upcoming winter!
Basic Ingredients:
– Carrots, Onions, Celery. These are the holy trinity. I also like to add garlic, potatoes, tomatoes, and others.
– vegetable/chicken broth and/or water.
– many recipes call for crushed tomatoes. I like diced, and can find them canned in any grocery store, but it’s up to you!
– (Optional) beans or lentils (if you buy dried lentils, cook them beforehand)
– (Optional) meat–sausage, beef, chicken. Cook before adding to the soup please!
Directions:
1. Cut up vegetables and sautee them in a big pot for about eight minutes. This is to soften them up and sweeten up the onions. Don’t add herbs yet!
2. If you bought canned beans, drain and rinse them. If you want thicker broth, you can crush up a can of beans into a paste and add them to the broth, or even throw them into a blender.
3. Set pot aside. Add tomatoes, beans, meat, broth. Bring to a boil, then let simmer for 20-30 minutes. Add any herbs you wish.
Common Vegetables:
Carrots – sex (with parsley for best results), fertility
Most herbs are not put into the broth until the broth is simmering, to prevent burning. The exception to this rule is bay, which is put in at the beginning. BEWARE of pepper! The longer the pepper cooks in the soup, the spicier the soup will be!
IF YOU’RE ADDING MEAT:
– Do not cut your vegetables with the same knife you cut meat with.
– Cook meat beforehand, but remember that it’ll be cooking in the broth for a time afterwards, or be careful not to overcook.
– Most meat is diced into half-an-inch-squares.
Other Tips:
– Stir clockwise to create, counter-clockwise to take away.
– You can carve sigils into some vegetable slices.
– Cook with a crystal near your pot to boost a spell’s effectiveness.
– Fire and water are prominent elements here! Draw upon their power.
And that’s it!! Have a lovely winter full of great company and nourishing meals!

Extra Witch Tip: I like to have a yummy cup of cinnamon apple coffee in the morning when doing my daily devotionals and meditation to help manifest love and raise spiritual vibrations (or energy) and to help ground me ❤
So, I improvised a new recipe for the new moon last night, and poured all my energy into it for new beginnings and this morning I had an amazing bit of news first thing this morning about one of my desired new starts. So I thought I’d share my recipe!
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for success, luck and prosperity)
½ teaspoon ground ginger (for drawing new experiences)
¼ teaspoon fresh nutmeg (for employment)
⅛ teaspoon allspice (for money, luck and determination)
⅛ teaspoon ground clove (to gain what is sought)
Pour 4 cups of the flour, yeast, and salt in large bowl. Recite Elemental Earth, bless my family with the new beginnings I desire
Pour in hot water and mix (stir clockwise to bring new beginnigns to you) until it is combined. As you pour and stir, recite Elemental Water, bless my family with the new beginning I desire.
It will be sticky.
Pour honey and butter on top and continue mixing until there is no sign of the butter or honey left.
Add last cup of flour incrementally, stirring until dough is no longer sticky.
Spread a small handful of flour on a clean flat surface and begin kneading the bread for about 5 minutes. This is a great time to really focus on your desired beginnings and pour the energy into the dough
Place dough back in bowl and cover with a tea towel to rise for about half an hour, until it doubles in size.
While dough is rising, melt butter, chop pecans, and mix sugar and spices together in a small bowl. (At this point I recited a small prayer to the Threefold Goddess as New Moon for blessings, but feel free to leave this part out if you so choose)
Remove dough from bowl and punch it down, expelling the air. Recite Elemental Air, bless my family with the new beginnings I desire.
Divide the dough in half. Flatten or roll out each half into an approximate rectangle. Brush the top of each with half the melted butter using a pastry brush or your finger, sprinkle the pecans and sugar/spice mixture over the top. Then roll the whole thing together, pinching the seam closed. Place seam-down in a greased loaf-pan, tucking the ends underneath. Using a sharp knife, preferably an athame, carve a sigil for New Beginnings deeply into the top of the loaf (either create your own or feel free to use mine).
Optional: Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon-sugar into the sigil.
Let rise another 10-15 minutes until dough reaches lip of loaf pan.
Bake for 35-40 minutes at 400F. Recite Elemental Fire, bless my family with the new beginnings I desire. I also lit a candle to represent fire and placed it atop my stove because my stove and oven are both electric and thus have no true flames.
Bread is cooked through when a light thump on the crust sounds hollow.
Turn finished loaves out onto racks and rub with water then wrap in tea-towels to soften crust. I just used a dampened tea-towel, but be sure not to leave it on too long or the loaves will get soggy.
Once it has cooled, slice with a bread knife and enjoy! If you try this, let me know how it goes! ^_^
