Affirmation sigils

rad-magick:

These sigils are to be mediated on and combined with their affirmations as chants, and then they can be destroyed.  So while mediating use the chants below.  I use Spare’s method of sigilization to create them, this is where the sigils are introduced into the sub-conscious mind.  I made a small post about it which you can read here.

Spell and Sigil Directory

thesigilwitch:

Here is what I have so far. Most of the spells are ones I already have on my blog, but I want to add as many more as I can find on Tumblr. (Yeah, I’m crazy.) The sigils aren’t anywhere close to being done yet either; I forgot about them until just a few minutes ago tbh… But yeah, here you go, have fun. 😀

What to use when in Witchcraft –

dog-rose:

Ok so I am gonna say this is my personal reference, its mainly through associations. You might TOTALLY disagree and thats chill!

Its more something to think about and a guideline of what I use myself…

Candle Magic:

Carve a candle when…. the candle represents the target, in sympathetic magic. When, essentially, the candle is a poppet and lighting it is a symbol of destruction or empowerment to the target.

Place something under the candle or before it when… you are doing general candle magic, when the candle represents empowering a wish, idea or concept.

Anoint the candle when… doing work with spirits and gods, when you mark the candle for a special purpose, when doing high magic.

Herbs and plant work:

Use dry herbs when… it is convienent to do so, when the herbs are out of season or when you need to store them in a jar or bottle for a long time.

Use fresh herbs when… the spell is very earth orientated, when doing magic on behalf of another or when the magic is sympathetic so that the herbs represent the target, within kitchen witchery.

Use flowers when… when the spell concerns love and sex, or perhaps fertility and attraction, due to flowers being the reproductive parts of the plant.

Use fruit when when… working with children as a target, or with children practising. When you work with fertility and abundance spells.

Use wood and twigs when… when the spell is for protection or binding, for hardiness.

Burn herbs (recaning/incense) when… you wish to cleanse or banish, or invoke an atmosphere – that being, for divination using herbs that are said to open up your perceptions, when banishing, burning acrid or pungent herbs.

Use oil infusions when… you wish to anoint something, when you wish to mark something permanently.

Use floral waters (rose water etc) when… dealing with spirits and gods, for glamour as it has a long history of being used to beautify.

Crystals:

Use metals (haematite, copper, ores etc..) when… you work in protection, when you do energy work due to the conductive properties of metal.

Use shell, pearl, coral and such when… you work in sea magic, when you work within emotional magic due to the element of water.

Use points when… you wish to direct magic to a target.

Use tumble stones when… you wish the magic to be gentle or manifest at a certain place on the body on a target.

Use geodes when… you work in protection, when you work with glamour aimed to obscure and hide.

Knot magic:

Use cotton when… it is convenient.

Use silk when… doing spells that benefit the target.

Use ribbons when… love spells and wealth spells, as well as confidence and beauty spells. Spells to ensure victory.

Use rope when… doing spells that aim to hurt or weaken the target, binding especially.

Poppets:

Use cloth when… the spell aims to benefit who the poppet represents, use particular care when sewing or cutting, choose colours that are appropriate to them.

Use wax when… you wish to manipulate the target.

Use clay when… wish to create fetches or servitors, when you wish to create permanency.

Use twigs when… you wish to bury or throw the poppet out, when you want the poppet to be easily destroyed by breaking or setting on fire.

Sigils:

Use an alphabet grid or circle when… you wish the sigil to be more random and less attached to you.

Combine the shapes of letters from a sentence… when your sigil is very specific and a short term goal.

Use your own personal symbols when… you want the magic to be connected to you, when it is personal.

SIGIL MAGICK & QR CODES

A great potential lies in using QR codes for sigil magick. For example you can make a linkage sigil net across the city in form of QR code stickers that get charged or launched by passing strangers who decide to decode it, or direct the energy to your altar/self. You can share short spells, hide chants, statements of intent, or set url links that lead to some more obscure multimedia which belongs to the complete sigil project.

In QR code you can enter data as text, links, contact cards, info, geo location, etc. QRs are easily made with free web generator sites. After downloaded image file you can take it further:

– colored cells, color gradients and layered sigils as low opacity backgrounds
– thanks to data correction in QR decoding you can “corrupt” 30% of code with centered logo/sigil. Cut unneeded parts so the QR gets better and faster readability.
– some sites offer even funkier design options, as different shapes of the “eye” squares, color variations, or code styles.
– try making 3D styled codes if you listen to witch house a lot (*guilty*)
– magickian can make a magic circle and insert multiple QR codes into it, center piece for summoning and even simpler QR encoded correspondences in corners (simpler the data, simpler the code!)
– finished thing can be printed on stickers (try to make them waterproof by sticking another layer of sticky transparent foil over it, youtube it)
– !!! Always check your code by phone/s, or different QR scan software options while designing your code. Some combinations lower the readability so try to play with opacity, contrast and etc while simultaneously checking it.

– enjoy being an urban reality hacking chaos magickian!

all the best chaotically,

Thomas Chaote

So I’ve been doing some research on QR codes since this post came
across my dash the other day. At first I had issues scanning these. The
one on the right scanned more easily, but I had to try a few apps to get
them both to read. I ended up getting the best results reading them
with QR Scanner & Barcode Reader by Mixerbox Inc on the apple store.

So here’s some tips I’ve picked up while trying to learn more about QR.

  • becasue of this, adding spell components to the negative space, in very light gray could be viable.
  • If
you are going to add a image to the center, like the example on the
left, I recommend getting a code with a logo in the middle already, like
    this

From here you can just crop out the facebook logo and add your own.

  • If
you are going to over up as little of the code as possible. It’s true
that sometimes they can correct up to 30% of corruption, but it’s kinda
iffy. At very least, check your code as you’re modifying it to make sure
    it’s still readable.
  • It really doesn’t like it when you cover
up any of the big squares or littler ones with the dots in the middle.
These are tracking squares and basically tell the program how to read
the code and that it’s looking at code at all.
  • Smaller isn’t
necessarily better. I found around 57×57 size to be the best when it
came to modifying and covering up part of the code.I’m not going to
pretend to know how it works, but from my research and tinkering with
it, it’s pretty good. If you need examples of this size and reasons for
it working, check out the wikipedia article on QR Codes. Good stuff in
    there.
  • The pixels do not need to be pixels! turns out, so long
as there is a clear difference between what is and isn’t colored in, a
lot of apps can read it. So you could, in theory and a steady hand, hand
draw these with shapes, stars, letters, whatever, in place of the
pixels, and it should work. So long as it’s clear as what “pixel” is
    blank and colored”
  • This is the best website I found for
generating QR codes, actually for free, and not kinda sorta “free” like a
lot of other sites advertise. I think there are options to buy stuff
and download programs. I suggest just copying the image right from the
preview and pasting it in photoshop or paint or whatever you’ve got. https://www.unitag.io/qrcode
    I
tested a bunch of formats like text, business card, email and stuff.
they all worked well. There are tones of style choices for customizing
your code, everything from changing the big squares into circles, to
    changing the pixels into Xs&Os

This is the most messed
up one I could make on their site and it still reads well. I think it
does a pretty ok job of illustrating how far you could comfortably push
QR codes, but I’m sure it could be way more crazy if you really
experimented with it.

Now,
I’m going to start experimenting with spell possibilities. I’m still a
novice at tech witchery, compared to all the other things I’ve learned
on my path. But so far, I think this could have some real potential 🙂
