Maybe we have not the energy or psychic resources to complete something complex. Maybe we cannot wait for the full moon. Maybe we need something in the moment. Simple spells can give us a boost or help us through trying moments.
Ease Anxiety With a small object in your hand (exempli gratia: a pen, a small stone, a charm, an eraser). Run your thumb lightly over the surface of the object either away from you or in a diurnal (anti-clockwise) motion. Repeat slowly in your mind calma anois síos (now calm down).
Confidence Boost Using your compact or standing in front of the mirror say the following three times: Tá mé neart (I am strength).
Beauty Charm Hold a necklace, ring, earrings, or bracelet you can comfortably wear in your left hand and place your right hand over them. Repeat three times: áilleacht agus cairde (beauty and grace). Move through your day with confidence.
Notes If you have trouble pronouncing the Irish, the English will work just as well.
Ward your home from ill presences and negative energies. Find a flat stone, the size of your fist. The stone represents the Earth, your home. Clean it with water and empower it. Thus:
Speaking the words below, repeatedly, pass the stone over the smoke of a burning incense and then over the flame of a candle. Drip a few drops of the candle’s wax on the surface of the stone. Anoint the stone with an oil from any protective herbs.
i’m new to green witchery – some of my plants don’t look so healthy, and sigils can only do so much. this spell will give your plant a much-needed health boost 🌱 (based off ‘little witch academia’)
time: this spell should be performed on a new moon
gather: willow bark, sun water, eggshells
optional materials: moonstone and jade chips (both are associated with growth + fertility)
preparations: crush the willow bark and eggshells into a powder. make sure the sun water is freshly charged.
🌿 sprinkle your powder at the base of your plant and in a ring around the stem
🌿 make an inner ring with moonstone, then an outer ring with jade
🌿 water your plant with the sun water before anointing its leaves
🌿 raise your arms and out loud, state the words
louperial ral!
(pronounced loo-peer-ee-al ral)
the energy from the powder and stones will revitalise your plant. make sure to be liberal with the sun water – this will act as a catalyst for your spell!
i used this for going back to school – an environment i find very unsettling and negative. this should help in managing your emotions!
time: this spell is quite specific! it should be used to mark the start of a week / important event.
gather: a piece of cereal box, a ballpoint pen, your desired sigil
⚡️ find a protection sigil that meets your needs. for example, i used this sigil for protection against negative energies.
⚡️ copy the sigil onto your piece of cereal box. make sure to press very hard into the scrap so the sigil is engraved into it. this should be done before the day of use.
⚡️ while you are doing this, concentrate on why you need this amulet to protect you. force your intentions through your ink and onto your amulet.
⚡️ the next day, carry your amulet into your pocket. every so often, feel the markings on your amulet for a boosted effect. your amulet will absorb all the bad energy.
⚡️ at the end of the day, burn the amulet and with it the evil you protected yourself from. if you can’t burn it, dipping it in paint with have the same effect.
this spell can be repeated as many times as necessary!
This spell is actually inspired by something my tarot cards told me, to let go of the pain and hurt and let it be swept away. This is a powder you’ll scatter into the winds.
Ingredients:
Wormwood – for all of the bitterness and pain you’ve been holding in Salt/salt water – to symbolize tears and sadness Rosemary – to let go of the memories that hold you back Ashes – to symbolize the things around you that have been painful and unsuccessful, the ways you’ve been burned Rue (optional) – for regret (I don’t have any rue on hand right now, but it would be a fantastic addition to the spell)
Directions:
Blend your ingredients together in a small bowl. You don’t need to grind them up if you don’t want to. Mix them, and while you do, think about all of the sadness and pain you’re holding in. Pour out all of your emotions of what’s pent up and hurting. Think of the past hurts and wounds. Pour that sadness into this powder.
Stand outside. (Crossroads would be great for this, but not necessary.) Take your mixture and hold it in front of you. Call forth the elements as you see fit. If you work with spirits/deities, now would be the time to call on them to aid you in this spell. Take a handful of powder and toss it into the wind at one of the four cardinal directions.
If you like to speak during your rituals (I personally don’t, so feel free to skip this), say something along the lines of
To the North I toss my regrets To the South I toss my sorrows To the East I toss my sadness To the West I toss my pain
May the winds carry them away from me So shall it be.
As you toss your mixture into each direction, picture the wind blowing it away and carrying your sorrows and struggles far away from you. Take a deep breath, and let it all go.
Thank the directions and elements for their assistance and end the spell as you see fit. Then go do something to cleanse and love yourself as a way to welcome in hope and love in place of sorrow and regret. (Write out a list of goals, do a self love spell, etc. Lots of options here!) Take a deep breath, your problems have been blown into the wind!
lavender oil (optional; be sure it is safe for skin!)
a rag
INTENT: To bring forth positive thoughts and help reduce nightmares.
STEPS:
Gather your water and salt into a bowl; use two drops of lavender oil if using.
Let the tip of your rag soak in the water.
Close your eyes and focus on the water. Charge it with positive energy by holding your hand over it, not touching.
Take your rag and gently dab it from one temple to the other, using 5-7 light dots of the soaked against your forehead while focusing on positive energies.
2/3 cup granulated sugar (more or less to taste) [love, joy]
🍉
Ice and fresh mint for serving (optional) [communication, energy, healing, love, lust, prosperity, protection, travel]
Instructions: As you follow these instructions, say, “Joy shall come to me. I bind these ingredients to work together and bring me and those who drink it happiness, joy, love, and positivity. May this food be blessed and so it shall be!” Add watermelon to a blender and pulse until well pureed (there should be about 4 cups). Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl. In a large pitcher whisk together water, lemon juice, and sugar until sugar has dissolved. Stir in pureed watermelon. Stir in ice and mint if you’d like (alternately add ice and mint directly to individual cups and pour lemonade over). Store in refrigerator or serve and enjoy!

🔮 sunflower seeds- because sunflowers make me happy and calm
🔮 clear quartz- for calmness
🔮 citrine- to show that I am creative and the right person for the job
🔮 rose quartz- for positivity
🔮 a bay leaf- I can not burn them in my apartment, so instead I wrote “job at _____” and repeated “I want the job, I’m going to get the job” as I crumpled the leaf up and placed it in the jar
🔮 cinnamon- to add that extra zing that will make the interviewer remember me
🔮 finally, I sealed off the jar with a green candle to represent money and work. I repeated “I want the job, I’m going to get the job”
Let’s face it. Sometimes our fear of failure and anxiety can get the best of us even when we think we’re prepared for whatever happens. That’s why I created this spell to help stay calm before major events.
This spell is great to do before a large presentation for school or work, a job interview, or any other event where you need to be calm and collected.
What you’ll need:
A small cloth bag, empty tea bag, or cheese cloth
Eucalyptus
Citrine
Lavender
Orange zest
What to do:
Gather your ingredients and place them in your bag. If you’re using tea cloth, place the items in the center of the bag and tie it closed with a cord or ribbon of your choice.
Once you’ve got all of your herbs in place, charge them with your intent! Hold them in your hands and imagine your energy flowing into them to waken their properties. Eucalyptus to repel negative thoughts and protect against them coming back, citrine to enhance the cleansing, lavender to stay relaxed and tranquil, and orange zest to restore a sense of well-being and joy.
When you can feel their energy thrumming in your hands, go into the bathroom and tie the bag to your shower head so that the hot water and steam will release the oils into the air. Shower like normal. Wash your hair, scrub down your body, make sure you get yourself squeaky clean, and then let the hot water ground and center you. Feel the water hitting the top of your head and trickling down to the tips of your toes. Imagine your anxiety like a thick, black tar covering your skin and only the water can wash it away. While envisioning this, you can chant or think this:
Flowing waters clean and clear Rid me please of all my fears
Wash the dread right down the drain
So calm and steady I’ll remain.
Cleanse my body, cleanse my mind
Leave my anxieties henceforth behind.
This is my will, this is my power
To release trepidation in this shower.
Repeat the chant until you feel ready to conquer whatever the day holds! For an added boost, keep the citrine in your pocket and rub it if those pesky thoughts come back.
