This one actually required a lil bit of guts to post because while this works for me, I’m just starting to branch out of the research phase of witchcraft and starting to do my own practice, but I’m still petrified of doing things “wrong.” That disclaimer aside, I’m gonna explain what I’ve been working on and experimenting with.
So I’ve been making spell jars with candles on top lately. The idea here is that the spell jar is harnessing the energy of its contents when the candle is burning. That’s my intention for it anyway, and it seems to be working quite well.
This particular one I made today for the purpose of cleansing residual energy after I’ve helped a spirit cross over. I’ve had some issues with spirits in my apartment lately so that’s the reason for this.
It contains:
💧Stream Water (for cleansing)
💧Swamp Water (for banishing)
🌱Juniper leaves + berries (for cleansing and protection against malignant forces)
🍃 Violet Leaves (protection against evil)
(Also I’m totally aware that the ingredients list in my grimoire includes sage. I just forgot to add the sage before I sealed it lol).
I tried it out and it works pretty well. After I helped this one spirit cross over, I left it burning where she was standing for a few minutes and the residual energy was lessened but not gone. I’d imagine I’d need to let it burn for longer.
Anyway this was a little insight into my current practice. Maybe it could serve as an idea for someone else, or maybe I’m about to get roasted. I don’t really know.
We’ve all been here, we’ve lost something and we have no idea where it could be. We’ve searched all the usual places and then the unusual ones and still nothing. If you have no other options a spell is always a good idea, its no guarantee but I’ve had them work in the past.
What you need:
An Envelope
Colored Paper
Markers
Garlic (power or dust would be great)
Rosemary (very small amounts)
or A penny
What to do:
Take a sheet of colored paper that you think of as the “brightest”. A color you could see the clearest. You want the paper to be visible no matter where it is.
On the paper draw two huge eyes. Detail them as much as possible but don’t worry if you have little to no artistic ability. The details are important because of the attention to details, the focus, the visualizing.
Once the eyes are done fold them up and place them gently in the envelope. Place the herbs in the envelope (if you don’t want to use them for any reason it is aright the spell will still work just substitute them with the penny.)
The herbs are to help keep away the clutter and bring order to this lost item. To ask for something back without offering anything up is rude, even if you’re asking for your own item returned.
Seal the envelope and DO NOT OPEN IT AGAIN.
Do NOT reuse an envelope for this spell, make a new one.
Hold it in your hands and imagine whatever you lost. Focus on smaller details or things that make the object yours or unique. Think about where you had it last and what you were doing. Imagine everything as vividly as you can. If you start to stray pull yourself back to details and facts you can remember.
Place the envelope under your pillow. Before you sleep that night recite:
These eyes will close, their search will wait But with these eyes much more ornate I will scour crevice and crack Until I have my _______________ back.
In the morning you may have dreamt of the place it is or you may not have. Still look everywhere again, this time focusing on tiny details as you search. Look everywhere you already looked, as thorough as possible. Comb through everything. If nothing has turned up recite:
These eyes haven opened, their search will start Those other eyes have done their part I will scour crevice and crack And I will have my ___________________ back.
Continue your search. Sometimes things just don’t come back until they are ready. I wish you luck in your search.
First let me state gods aren’t an ingredient you can use in a spell but I’ve been a devotee of Freyja for a while now and worked on creating this spell specifically with her because I needed help finding love for myself. This is a spell I wrote for myself and @v3niri so I’m sorry if that’s inconvenient for anyone. Feel free to not include Freyja or do offerings for your own gods, etc. You don’t necessarily need the ingredients as long as you have your intent.❤️

In my opinion there is no right or wrong way to cast a spell and that statement holds true for this spell as well. I do suggest you focus all of your intent on accepting who you are and learning to love yourself. You can set the altar up how ever you please and use as many or as little ingredients as you want. I personally like to use tea light candles so I can use them burning out as a way to feel complete in my spell. I hope this is helpful to someone!
You will need: -Two candles (Note: The book specifies a pink & blue candle- this indicates a straight relationship and other colors can be subbed in.) -Lily or jasmine oil. -Cinnamon tea and cinnamon sticks.
Anoint the candles with the oil and say/think “Healing starts with new beginnings. My heart is open, I’m ready now. God/Goddess, will you show me how.” Drink a cup of the cinnamon tea, stirred counterclockwise with the cinnamon stick. Sprinkle cinnamon on your front door. When the cinnamon is crushed underfoot, it’s regenerative qualities will help you start a fresh chapter in your love life.
Sea shell symbolize the element water, love, protection, preparation, peace, and prosperity.
Abalone: Hidden beneath its drab shell lies a beautiful mother-of-pearl. Use this shell in spells when seeking hidden treasures, wealth, and good fortune. It is also often used in love spells, especially self love spells. Amulets made of abalone shells help with affirmations, balancing, and protection. As well as protection from negativity, attraction to creativity, and is often used for meditation and chakra balancing. A whole abalone she can bee used as an incense holder. Abalone is a healing shell. Helps stimulate psychic development. Abalone helps with anxiety, stress, arthritis relief, muscular problems, and heart and digestive system problems.
Auger: Used in spells male oriented magic, fertility, courage, power, and to aid in male healing.
Clam: Since Venus was painted coming out of a clam shell, this has been considered a symbol of her. Use this shell when you call on Venus for help. As well as for spells that have to do with purification, friendship and love.
Cockle: This shell is best used in spells for love, friendship, relationships, and emotions.
Conch: Can be used for spells that have to do with summoning, lost communication, difficulties in communication, and to aid in clearing misconceptions. As well as power, grace, beauty, nobility, strength, freedom, and forward movement.
Cowries: This shell is used in spells for anything of concern to females. Including menstrual and pregnancy difficulties. Also used for spells that include fertility, prosperity and money.
Limpets: Used in spells for courage, confidence, and physical strength.
Moon shell: It can be used for anything lunar related. Also for psychic awareness, purification, and peace.
Murex: Used for protection, defense, and preservation.
Nautilus: Used for any mentally related spells. This would include passing your exam, completing all your homework, remain focused, etc.
Oyster: Used in spells for banishment, love and good fortune.
Sand dollars: Used in wealth spells and wisdom spells.
Scallop: Good all purpose-shells and can be used to replace any shell. Also used in travel and movement spells.
Spindle: It is best used in meditations on destiny as well as any spell to do with inspiration.

Last night while scrolling my Tumblr feed, I stumbled upon asksecularwitch’s Peach Cobbler Spell from last year and it reminded my of a spell I did in my childhood, when I was too innocent to actually know I did a thing.
One day, my best friend came to my house to play and in the middle of the day, totally random she told me: Hey, do you want to know something cool? Someone told me that if you write your wish on a piece of paper with red ink and flood it in lemon juice, your wish is gonna come true. This lady told me that it was a white magic trick.
Little did she know I used that recipe all of my teenage years to get books. It’s a very simple spell, done mostly for kids or by kids, so bear with me. You can add things to it if you want, but for me, the original recipe did the trick.Here we go.
You’ll need:
A container to hold the juice
Lemon Juice
Red Ink (marker, pen, anything)
Piece of paper
Write your wish on the piece of paper with the red ink. Put it in your container, you jar or whatever it is you chose. Flood the paper in lemon juice. Now play the waiting game until your wish comes true. I remember when I was a teen, I never waited more than a few months, but that was because I wished for a physical object. I never wished for something else than books, so if you wish for love or money, I have no idea how it’ll turn out. My favorite curse is probably this [“Only a Memory” Curse] – again, really well put together, and when I was close to cursing that one time, this was the one I was gonna use.
Take your sponge and your writing utensil. Draw your chosen sigil on the sponge.
Take your container of water. Add 4 drops of your essential oil and 2 drops of your liquid soap. Place it next to your sponge.
Slowly submerge your sponge in your container of liquid. As it fills with water envision your anxiety flowing from your fingers and into the sponge, making it heavy and making you lighter.
Rub the sponge and breathe evenly and deeply as the sigil fades from the sponge.
