Loving the sun ritual

shinto-witch:

The sun is not often paid as much attention as the moon in witchcraft. Yet the sun is so vital to our very existence, so vital to the health of crops and so vital to the flow of energy on our planet. The sun brings us precious vitamin D, which is really important for those who suffer from depression and osteoporosis, keeps us warm, and brings us blessings of the harvest. If you live in the city, it’s very hard to know and understand how important the harvest time is. Most of us live in cities where vegetables and fruit are no longer seasonal but are available all year round, and super markets are chock-full of produce all the time. We no longer hunt and gather, and most of us no longer live on farms and rely on the crops for our sustenance in the same way we used to. It is only when we give offerings to the sun and meditate on it’s blessings daily that we can come to be mindful of how lucky we are to have the sun and how much it controls our life even if we live in a city. We can not escape the flow of nature, even in a city. Unfortunately many of us living in cities have become out of touch with the natural cycles of this earth simply because of where we live.

This is a simple ritual to get you more in tune with the energy of the sun. Do this daily in view of the sunrise and outside if possible. If your home prevents you from seeing the east, or you simply cannot get up at sunrise without 5 million cups of coffee, then you can build a little shrine to the sun using a mirror and some objects that remind you of the sun and perform the ritual at this shrine when you wake up. If it is easier for you all together, you can switch to performing this ritual at sunset.

You’ll need:

A yellow candle

Copal or Frankincense resin (if you have incense sticks that is fine too)

A small amount of citrus fruit, water, and rice (or bread) to give as an offering

1. Facing east (or west if performing this at sunset) light your candle and the resin and allow the air to become fragrant. Allow the smell of the incense to fill you and bring you a sense of happiness.

2. Meditate for a few minutes on how the sun blesses you every day. Think of how the sun is busy throughout the day growing your fruits and vegetables, growing your wheat and rice, creating rain, keeping you warm and helping plants create fresh air for you to breathe.

3. Offer the food and water to the sun with gratitude. Bow deeply and thank the sun for all it does through the day to help you live happily.

You will begin to learn through this ritual how incredibly blessed you are. You have some of the simplest reasons to be happy because of the sun!

Count your blessings! Be thankful! Start with thanking the sun!

Rotten Apple Banishing Spell

shezzainblue:

for thewispsoftime

1. Cut an apple in half horizontally, so the star is exposed.

2. Rub one half of the apple with a mint leaf,  while visualizing what needs to be banished. You may also write it on a piece of paper.

3. Put the two halves of the apple back together with the paper between the two halves. . Use a skewer to hold the two pieces together once more.

4. Tie securely with a black ribbon.

5. Bury the apple as far away as possible. The problem should disipate as the apple rots.

TwitchyWitchyOne’s Aggressive Home Protection Spell Bottle

I used every item I had on hand for this spell bottle, because we’re going through a mildly nasty separation from our roommate. I went for equal parts aesthetic and function (because I want it to be on display in my living room), so I’m going to include the order in which I added ingredients, but it’s not really necessary. Feel free to use as is, modify for what you have on hand, or for your personal preferences.

Tools:
A bottle/jar/container with a cork/lid.
A brown candle.

Ingredients (remember you can use whatever you have or prefer instead):
Black Beans (dry): protection, defense, strength.
Red Beans (dry): health, energy, compassion.
Chilli Powder: repelling negative energy.
Cinnamon (ground and stick): protection, strength, prosperity.
Cloves: banishing, protection.
Cumin: protection.
Garlic (ground and whole): protection, guard against negative energy.
Nutmeg: protection, prosperity.
Rosemary (ground and whole): good health.
Black Pepper: protection against evil.
Salt: protection.
Ginger (ground and whole): strengthens the other ingredients.
Charged/Infused Water (feel free to charge however you want or infuse with any herbs or crystals you feel would be helpful)

Spell:
While adding each ingredient, focus on the property you need from it. Say “I/We are ___” inserting the property you are focused on. When something had a property other than protection, I used it. Protection is the point of the bottle as a whole, so you don’t need to say it with every protection herb you add. You know?

The order in which I added ingredients:
1. Black Beans (“We are strong.”)
2. Salt (“We are safe.”)
3. Cloves (“We banish negative energy.”)
4. Cumin (“We are safe.”)
5. Chilli Powder (“We repel negative energy.”)
6. Nutmeg (“We are prosperous.”)
7. Ground Garlic (“We guard against negative energy.”)
8. Ground Cinnamon (“We are prosperous.”)
9. Black Pepper (“We protect against evil.”)
10. Ground Rosemary (“We are healthy.”)
11. Ground Ginger (“We strengthen.”)
12. Red Beans (“We are compassionate.”)
13. Whole Garlic (“We guard against negative energy.”)
14. Whole Ginger (“We strengthen.”)
15. Whole Cinnamon (“We are prosperous.”)
16. Whole Rosemary (“We are healthy.”)
17. Charged/Infused Water (whatever you charged or infused it with.)

Close the bottle/jar. Heat the bottom of a candle to make it stick to the cork/lid of your bottle/jar. Light the candle. Think (or say) “Our home is safe. Our home is whole. Our home is blessed.” Let the candle burn out to seal the bottle/jar.

If you want to, at this point you can add any sigils, symbols, ribbons, anything else that will have meaning and also be nice to look at.

Use your tarot cards not just for divination but to cast spells!

Burn a candle on top of the Justice card for justice in any situation! Likewise for to give yourself Strength. Use The Lovers for a love spell. The Tower for a curse, to bring about someone’s downfall. Don’t forget to use your own associations with the cards, not just the ‘textbook’ interpretations. The possibilities are endless!

kind of concerned about burning a candle on a card? Bc so much heat all focused on top of a card?

Then don’t do it, this is a tip not a rule. But I’ve never had a card burst into flame. Also, the candle should still be in a holder…

I often use tarot cards in spell work. I have little easels to put them on to prop them up. I once lost a card to water. I brought snow inside for a winter solstice thing and my Sun card fell in melted water, bummed me out.

Having a larger pillar candle might help to expand burn time. But you can also just print out a copy of the card in question.

For me i was more concerned about wax on my tarot card when i used it. So i flipped it over card down.

Also you should never leave a candle unattended. Thats general fire safety, so if the candle looks too dangerously close to the card? Put out the candle. Then wait until the candle is cool enough to move away from the card.

I always monitor my spell candles if i am leaving them to burn. Every 5 to 10 mins. I never leave that candle alone.

Also you can get the like tea light candles that have the like metal bottoms. But again watch the candle for sure.

I think cunning was expecting everyone to know to monitor the candles by default, anyway.

Un-Binding Spell

rainy-day-witchcraft:

image

A spell to proclaim the end of a relationship, or to remove somebody problematic/negative from your life. Note~ This is not a breakup spell, or a spell written specifically for love; it is rather a spell to move on after a conflict of any sort.

Written by Rainy-day-Witchcraft / Please do not remove source!

Materials:

  • Two black candles
  • Black ribbon
  • Red thread
  • Object of importance (It should be an object associated with this person; In this example, I will use a necklace)
  • Bottle or Jar
  • Knife/Athame

For extra power, perform on: First Quarter/Waning Half-Moon

Step 1.

Carve both your name and the name of the other person into each candle with your knife or athame. (Sigils, symbols, or banishing words may also be carved)When this is done, anchor them both into the ground or surface straight across from each other, no more than a few inches. Be sure they will not move or fall over!

Step 2.

Tie the candles with either end of the black ribbon, chanting:

“This ribbon represents the bond which holds us together”

Tie the red threat to both, again, chanting:

“This thread represents the string of fate, binding us together”

After placing the object (necklace) in front of your candles; hold up your knife, and chant firmly and strongly:

“This knife represents our separation; I cut this bond with the power and will that will cause [Enter name here] to never return to my life or bring me [Enter emotion here/ Grief, saddness, anger, etc.] ever again.

So mote it be -”

Swing your knife down between the candles, rupturing or cutting both the ribbon and thread. It’s alright if they fall, or if the ribbon and thread do not break. Just take the knife and saw through the middle until they break completely. (Just do not let the flame go out!) When completely separated, proclaim:

“ – it is done.”

Step 3.

Place the object within the jar tangled up in the pieces of ribbon and thread, along with all negative energies and attractions you hold associated with the person. Quickly seal the lid and let the other person’s candle melt down over the top of the bottle, containing the spell.

Step 4.

While the candle melts over the bottle, bring the candle with your name carved into it to a windowsill or table, and allow it to burn out. As the flame becomes lower and lower, it fills your life with positive energy and opportunity where that problematic person once was!

Step 5.

Collect the jar and dispose of it properly. You may keep it if you choose to do so, but ever breaking the seal will cause the spell to cease it’s magick; in other words, will no longer work! It is preferred that you bury it, but your disgarding method is up to you ~

Hopefully some of my fellow witches and magickal practicers find this helpful! Let my know if you have any questions or comments ~

Jewelry Enchantment Spell

magic-for-the-masses:

anonymous said:

is it possible to put good energy into a necklace? i want to buy my friend a necklace, im new to all this, im wondering how can i put good energies into it? im not sure what its called either hh

Yes this is absolutely possible. I do it all the time. Magic users generally call this enchanting.

I have a formula for enchanting a piece of jewelry that can be used for almost any intent. (I know it seems like a lot to do, but it really isn’t that complicated or hard to perform; I’m just really thorough and focus on details, and most of this is just prep.)

Jewelry Enchantment Spell

Preparation / Set-Up

Think about the kinds of energies or properties you want to enchant the jewelry with (happiness, peace, positivity, calming, etc.).

Create a sigil that matches your intent; an example would be “this [jewelry] is charged with the potent energies of [intent],” but feel free to come up with something that suits you better. (For extra energy, draw the sigil in a color that matches your intent; “default” is black.)

Gather up four candles for the spell. Tealights work perfectly.

(For extra energy, choose candles in a color that match your intent; “default” is white.)

Determine what crystals match your intent. Pick four of one crystal, or two of two different kinds of crystals. Personal correspondences are also important. If you do not have crystals, or do not wish to use them, feel free to leave them out.

Pick at least three herbs that correlate to your intent, though you may use more if you wish; you will also need sea salt. Dried would be optimal, as you will be burying the piece of jewelry in them. Personal correspondences are also important.

If you feel it is necessary, cleanse your piece of jewelry (or yourself) before you begin.

Performing the Spell

Prep for spellwork in the way you normally do (meditate, cleanse your space, cast a circle, set up your altar / workspace, invoke any deities / spirits, light candles or incense, play mood-setting music, etc.).

Draw a circle on a piece of paper, large enough to fit a medium size bowl (a cereal bowl works fine). In the center of the drawn circle, draw your sigil. Place your bowl over the sigil. Place your candles at the top, bottom, left and right of the circle. If you wanted to use crystals, put one between each of the candles; if you used two different types of crystals, place the matching ones across from each other diagonally. Your set up should look something like this:

If you wish to, draw the squares connecting the candles to each other, and the crystals if you used them, though it isn’t necessary.

Light your candles. If you used crystals, pick them up (individually or as a group), and charge them with your intent. Take as long as you feel is necessary.

Set the piece of jewelry in the bowl. Prepare your herbs to be added – you will want equal parts of each herb and the sea salt, enough to cover the jewelry completely when it’s in the bowl. As you hold each herb in your hand, before adding it to the bowl, state its purpose, and fill it with your intent.

Once all the herbs are in the bowl, use your dominant hand to stir the ingredients clockwise. Channel your energy and intent towards your desire into the herbs and the jewelry itself. Visualize what things might be like with more of that attribute present in your life.

Continue this for as long as you think is necessary, however long until you feel the jewelry is adequately charged. Remove the jewelry, and wipe any herbs or powder from it with a dry cloth. Blow out the candles, then dispose of the rest of the herbs. (You can also keep them for use in other spells relating to your intent.)

Recharge the jewelry once a month, either with the same method, or purely with your own energy.
