wiccan-asshole:

Anti-Anxiety Jar Spell

I modified this spell to fit my mom’s needs. This spell is meant to calm you while also boost energy you would have otherwise spent on your anxiety. You must remain calm while creating and corking this spell or else it may not have the desired affect.

You will need:

  • Himalayan Salt
  • Sage, Coffee Grounds & Basil mix
  • Dried Corn Husks
  • Dried or Fresh Lavender Flower Buds
  • White Candle
  • TINY Jar
  • Blessed/Cleansed/Charged Bowl
  • Funnel, easily made out of paper

Directions:

  1. Light the white candle. Close your eyes and visualize your calmest state of being.
  2. Mix the Sage, Coffee Grounds & Basil with the Lavender Flowers. Funnel into the jar until it is 1/3 full.
  3. Place the pieces of Dried Corn Husk in the jar. Make sure it won’t cause the Salt to clog when funneling it in, as it will make a huge mess.
  4. Charge the Himalayan Salt with good, calm energy. Funnel the Salt into the jar. Leave room for the cork.
  5. Center yourself and Cork the Jar when you feel nice and calm.

Pretty easy magic to get whatever you want (AKA, the Polar Spell)

spiritvexer:

This
is called the Polar spell because it has two polaric sides: a
banishing and a summoning.

This
can be performed by someone from any path or faith.

You
will simply need a quiet space and a point of focus. Try to use a
unique point of focus that you only use with this spell.

For
this spell, you will banish something you don’t want, then summon
it’s opposite. Examples are poverty/wealth, loneliness/friendship, or
anxiety/peace.

This
point of focus can be anything. It could be nothing at all if you are
good at focusing your mind. If you are a witch, you may like to use a
candle flame, the witch’s compass, or some dried herbs. If you are
religious, an icon of your god or religious leader could certainly do
the trick. If you are New Age, try crystals. Choose an object that
acts as a portal to the Universe, Heaven, or the Otherworld. When you
focus on this object, your voice and thoughts are infused by the
powers of that realm, and anything you desire can become reality.

If
your path calls for it, cleanse your point of focus however you
please. If you like, use my cleansing ritual.

Hold
your point of focus and see that (imagine) it is covered with an
icky, grimy energy. Take a deep breath and imagine your breath is the
color of purification. Exhale on your focus object and see that the
grimy energy is becoming totally cleared away, being purified by your
breath and returning to a state of neutrality. Either exhale once or
three times. If for some reason you cannot stop seeing the icky grimy
energy on your object, let it rest covered in salt for three days.

While
looking at your focus object, relax and imagine that you are becoming
very connected with your realm. Let yourself be infused with the
power of that place. It is shining down on you always, and all you
need to do is accept it. In this moment of focus, you can accept it.
Think or say, “I accept my power to change the Universe.” It is
alright if you feel strange, tingly, or even a little creepy. It’s an
intense moment. Enjoy it.

Think
about what you would like to banish. Focus intently on it. Imagine it
in whatever form seems most fitting. Then imagine that something
happens to that energy which sends it away. Some examples:

  • The
energies you wish to banish are burned up in flames, and the ashes
    are blown far away.
  • The
energies are trapped in bubbles, and the bubbles carry them far away.
  • The
energies are encased in lead or cement and sink to the bottom of the
    ocean.
  • The
energies are an illusion which shatters like glass.

As
you imagine the energies being destroyed or carried away, say or
think, “I banish you, [energies]. You are exiled from my life.”
Repeat this once or however many times seems fitting.

If
for any reason, you simply cannot imagine these energies being
removed, or they seem to be invulnerable to damage, you are trying to
banish something too big or too deeply rooted. Start smaller.

Once
these energies have been properly banished, it is time to call in
their opposites to fill that blank space. Just as you did before,
vividly imagine the opposing, benevolent energies appearing in your
life.

  • Imagine
that you are holding a seed, and from the seed sprouts the energies
    you desire.
  • Imagine
that a strong wind or rain brings these energies and places them at
    your feet.
  • Imagine
that before you is an ancient treasure chest, which opens to reveal
    what you desire.
  • Imagine
that a creature of good omens carries these energies in its mouth and
drops them in to your life.

Once
the energies have “arrived,” imagine that they grow bigger and
bigger until it fills your life.

If
you cannot grow the energies, you may lack the power to do so, or
something could be blocking them. Try summoning something else that
is benevolent and healthy. In addition, try making your
visualizations more simple and with less detail.

Once
you have imagined this energy filling your entire life, do a gesture
of sealing. An example could be saying a word or phrase like “so
mote it be” or “it is done.” Or you could blink, clap your
hands, stomp your feet, or do sign language.

Send
thanks to your higher powers, leave an offering to the spirits, or do
anything else to show your gratefulness (if desired). Cover your
focus object with a cloth or within a container. Put it away. Go
ground by eating some food, doing a little physical activity, and
talking to friends.

Repeat
this quick spell once a day until you see the forces in your life
changing. For a small banishment/summoning, expect to see results
within a week. For a much larger scale, the timeline will naturally
grow longer.

If
this spell does not work for you within a week, send me a message and
we will troubleshoot.

Anchor Stone

lowspoonswitchcraft:

I created this spell to help deal with intrusive thoughts and sensory overload, but I’m pretty sure that it can be used for almost anything. It’s great because it only takes a few minutes to cast and I can use it with essentially no spoons once it’s set up.

Essentially, the goal is to create a stone that serves as an anchor to the physical world and as a connection to the strength of the earth. You can bond the stone to yourself or to a kintype/facet/alter/etc.

Step 1: find a stone. It can be any stone, but if you prefer some type of crystal, that’s okay. The only things that matter are that it can be carried with you without breaking and that it feels good in your hand. If you feel like charging it, go ahead (maybe moonlight for calm?) but you definitely don’t have to.

Here are my two anchor stones (the larger one is bonded to my main self and the smaller one is for a kintype)

Step 2: Bonding. This is the incantation I used. Feel free to modify it or add parts to give your anchor stone a specific purpose.

Hold the stone in your hand until it begins to reach the temperature of your skin. Focus on the sensations of holding it, especially the weight in your hand. If you’re bonding it to a kintype, shift to the kintype beforehand. If you’re bonding it to a facet or alter, have them front or co-front while the spell is being done.

My name is [name] and this stone is me

I claim it as my anchor

It will be my connection to the earth from whence I came

May it give me strength

May it help me find strength within myself

Let us be one

You only have to do this once. When you do, the stone is bound to you. You can use it whenever you need.

Step 3: Use. Hold the stone in your hand. Focus on its strength and the strength of the earth and either say or think “lend me your strength”. When you’re feeling better, say or think “thank you” and put your stone down. Don’t worry if you forget, it’s mostly a formality.

I normally carry my main anchor stone in my pocket so it’s easily accessible. This has the added benefit of keeping it close to my skin so it can adjust to my energies over time. If this doesn’t work for you, do whatever feels right. This is a spell based entirely on instinct, so it should be even more subjective than most magic.

Good luck and happy witching!

Lovely submission, thank you!!!

Witch Bottle: Mad Diviner Version

maddiviner:

A witch bottle is a contraption designed to absorb and nullify the forces that may attack you, be they magical or otherwise. Some would argue that it only stops malevolent spells, but I see no reason why it would not deflect so-called mundane attacks, as well.

Witch bottles have a long and storied history, and are even found amongst the ruins of older buildings, dating from the Early Modern period. During this time, witch hunts were common, fear of witches ran rampant, and one cannot be surprised that many people tried to take matters into their own hands to protect themselves from these supposed evildoers.

Though traditionally seen as a sort of talisman against witchcraft and evil magics in general, I do believe that the act of creating one, in and of itself, is an occult practice. Thus, it’s a bit bemusing to imagine those who hated witches and magic frantically making these things to save themselves from evil spells.

I honestly think that, during the Early Modern period, making a witch bottle would have been a somewhat revolutionary, if private, act of defiance within a person’s life. Entire countries were turned against the very notion of magic, and had manufactured straw enemies in the form of Satanic witches. Many misfortunes were blamed on witches by authority figures, and it’s quite likely that the population, for the most part, believed these evil sorcerers actually existed.

The official government response consisted of conducting witch hunts and killing many innocent people. Imagine, though, what it must have been like for a person living in this time. That the evil witches existed could be taken for granted; such a person would have heard the lie repeated so often that the fear of malevolent magics was engrained in their psyche.

When trouble arose that society wanted to blame on witchcraft, though, the individual likely felt powerless, particularly if they weren’t socially prominent. Most people were not in a position to do battle with imaginary witches, and the response by the authorities was just as terrifying as the false threat of witchcraft.

Thus, to regain a modicum of personal autonomy and assert their intentions to the universe, some individuals resorted to a plethora of folk remedies, charms, and spells (I call it like it is!) designed to drive off witches, or draw them into the open. This must have taken a lot of courage, because, as I’ve said, there’s very little way these people could have rationalized their spells away as not being somewhat akin to what witches do. Seeking to protect yourself from witches could easily get you named as a witch, after all, so yes, courage was required.

Did the bottles made during this period work, so to speak? Probably. It’s hard to say, because there really weren’t many actual witches active during this time period, and those that were active likely didn’t go out of their way to hunt down and curse random people.

Still, these charms probably had a great deal of efficacy, if only due to the twin powers of intent and belief. This is partially why I see the witch bottle as effective against all kinds of attacks, not simply magical ones.

Making a Witch Bottle

Now, all over the internet, and indeed, all over Tumblr, you can find many excellent guides and recipes for witch bottles. Today, I’ll be showing you the personal method I developed for making one. It differs from other traditional methods in a single crucial way, and I believe this makes my version somewhat more difficult to make, but perhaps more effective overall.

Before developing the plans for this, I researched witch bottle traditions extensively, and made notes on them, etc. I ultimately concluded that there was something “off” in both modern and postmodern versions of the charm, at least for me. I just didn’t see how it could be effective given the way the ingredients were used and their composition. This is not to say it wouldn’t work for another person, but intent is everything, and I seriously doubted I could get my intent going if I followed an existing recipe. So, here’s my variation, and so can you!

image

The requirements for the spell are simple, and can be suited to your particular situation quite easily. You need:

  1. A personal taglock,
  2. A very small bottle,
  3. A larger bottle that the small bottle can fit within,
  4. Sharp objects,
  5. Baneful herbs or an existing compound designed to dismantle evil or bring destruction.

The most important part, arguably, is the personal taglock. Read my long post about what a taglock even is, and what makes a good taglock. Basically, though, you need an object or bit of something that is essentially tied to you in some way. Physical proximity is good, but an emotional tie, as explained in the post I linked above, is even better.

For my taglock, I went out and bought a nice package of fancy cigarettes of the kind that were popular in my youth, and, on the way home from the store, smoked one. When I was finished, I carefully extinguished it and deposited the remains in a small plastic bag.

When I arrived home and went into my laboratory space, I rummaged around and found a very, very, very small bottle with a cork. I shredded the cigarette remains and filled the tiny bottle with them, then corked it. I topped this off with silver wax to form a good seal (silver being the only available color I had around).

image

To be honest, if you decide to try my version, I would recommend using a lock of hair in place of the cigarette, because smoking is bad for you and you shouldn’t do it. Yes, yes, I did it, but you shouldn’t. End of story!

Now, you’re probably wondering why I chose such a small bottle, and just put the taglock inside without anything to shred a malevolent force, as is customary. Well, I did this because the tiny bottle is going to go inside the larger bottle. Yep, that’s the big difference between my version and everyone else’s.

Anyways, you then take the larger bottle and stuff it halfway full with your material – glass, sharps, banefuls, etc., depending on your preference. Do remember that there must remain room for the small bottle to rest comfortably within the larger one, though. Once the bottle is halfway filled, slip the small bottle inside, like this:

image

As you can see, I used baneful herbs for the majority of the space within the bottle. Specifically, I used wormwood, which I filled the bottle with very carefully and gently so as not to spill any. I added some sharp needles and tacks and such, as well. Once it was halfway full, and the small bottle was inside, I began using my vinegar.

I chose to use Four Thieves Vinegar for this working, and carefully filled the bottle up slightly with the mixture. For more information on Four Thieves Vinegar and what it contains and represents, see my post about it. If you end up using a liquid like this, make sure to leave room for more of the solid stuff in the bottle, so that the liquid doesn’t mess with the cork.

image

You can see above that the tiny bottle is nearly floating. I added a lot more wormwood to soak it all up, and some more sharp objects, too. Finally, I closed it up, and ultimately sealed it with wax, just as I had the smaller bottle.

image

You may ask why I’m putting the taglock within a smaller bottle. Well, it’s simple to me! I don’t want a taglock from me floating in a jar of baneful herbs and sharp things. Think about it – that’s exactly the method you would use to curse someone, right? And, while intent is everything, I just figured it wouldn’t work for me, so I developed this idea instead. I hope this is helpful for someone!

Cat Cuddle Comfort Spell

pastorwitch:

Spell-a-Day: Day 26

image

Description: For when you are stressed and need love to feel ok.

Materials:

  1. Amethyst (small)
  2. Cat
  3. Catnip (optional)
  4. Chamomile Tea
  5. Pillows
  6. Blankets (optional)

Notes:

  1. Charge your amethyst beforehand.
  2. You may substitute any pet.
  3. In the event that your furry friend has passed you may substitute a stuffed animal or visualize them. You should also look up a purr simulator in youtube.

Instructions:

  1. Brew the chamomile tea.
  2. Perform any pre-spell rituals.
  3. Place the amethyst under a pillow you will be resting on.
  4. Call your cat. You may need to tempt them to come over and stay with catnip spread on your chest. Wrap yourself in blankets or alternatively wrap both of you in blankets.
  5. Pet them until they purr loudly.
  6. Sip your tea and pet your cat. Repeat these words as necessary:
    1. No matter what happens, my cat will still love me.
    2. His/her purrs wash over me with their healing power,
    3. Calming me and making me whole again.
    4. His/her love heals my heart.
    5. Their unconditional love is a true measure of friendship.

Notes:

  1. This spell is best when done with a cat because a cat’s purr does having healing abilities. If you have another pet you can talk about their kisses in place of the purr, or any other aspect of them.
  2. Take time to allow yourself to slow down and just be loved. Before I was diagnosed with my anxiety disorder, cuddling with my cat was the only way I knew how to cope.

Dedicated to my cat: I still need you.

Safe Travels Mini Spell Jar

goodwitchbarbarella:

One of my friends is traveling home for the holidays, so I made him a small spell jar that he can carry on his person. I love these tiny little jars, they are perfect to keep in your pocket, wallet, or bag!

image

~ What you will need ~

  • Rosemary – for good health and protection
  • Angelica – for protection, and to ward off negative energy while calling in good energy
  • Alkanet – for prosperity
  • Sea Salt – for protection
  • Agate – for security and inner stability
  • Fireberry (Pyracantha) – for boundary protection (I keep my berries frozen so when I use them they don’t break or explode on me. Please note that fireberry is mildly poisonous when raw and eaten in large amounts.)

While I put everything together, I pictured my friend’s journey from start to finish. I projected happiness, safety and protection onto the image of him traveling and linked it to the jar. Because I want him to have a relaxing plane ride, I pictured him flying each way and willed the jar to bring him comfort.

Safe travels to everyone for the coming holidays!!

Sweet as snow spell ─
this low spoon wishing spell consists of collecting freshly fallen snow in a seashell then sprinkling sugar on top while visioning whatever you’d like to manifest. Allow the ice crystals to melt and leave the water on your altar or in a special place to evaporate. This will release the cheerful energies into your atmosphere, while adding sweetness to your life and melting away any worries ❄️

greenkitchenwitch:

So, I improvised a new recipe for the new moon last night, and poured all my energy into it for new beginnings and this morning I had an amazing bit of news first thing this morning about one of my desired new starts. So I thought I’d share my recipe!

New Moon Bread Recipe
For Bringing New Beginnings
Modified from http://www.food.com/recipe/quick-yeast-bread-89164

  • 5 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt (preferably sea salt)
  • 2 cups hot tap water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ cup softened butter

Filling:

  • ¼ cup butter (melted)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped pecans (for employment)
  • ¼ cup sugar (for sweet beginnings)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for success, luck and prosperity)
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger (for drawing new experiences)
  • ¼ teaspoon fresh nutmeg (for employment)
  • ⅛ teaspoon allspice (for money, luck and determination)
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground clove (to gain what is sought)

Pour 4 cups of the flour, yeast, and salt in large bowl. Recite Elemental Earth, bless my family with the new beginnings I desire

Pour in hot water and mix (stir clockwise to bring new beginnigns to you) until it is combined. As you pour and stir, recite Elemental Water, bless my family with the new beginning I desire.

It will be sticky.

Pour honey and butter on top and continue mixing until there is no sign of the butter or honey left.

Add last cup of flour incrementally, stirring until dough is no longer sticky.

Spread a small handful of flour on a clean flat surface and begin kneading the bread for about 5 minutes. This is a great time to really focus on your desired beginnings and pour the energy into the dough

Place dough back in bowl and cover with a tea towel to rise for about half an hour, until it doubles in size.

While dough is rising, melt butter, chop pecans, and mix sugar and spices together in a small bowl. (At this point I recited a small prayer to the Threefold Goddess as New Moon for blessings, but feel free to leave this part out if you so choose)

Remove dough from bowl and punch it down, expelling the air. Recite Elemental Air, bless my family with the new beginnings I desire.

Divide the dough in half. Flatten or roll out each half into an approximate rectangle. Brush the top of each with half the melted butter using a pastry brush or your finger, sprinkle the pecans and sugar/spice mixture over the top. Then roll the whole thing together, pinching the seam closed. Place seam-down in a greased loaf-pan, tucking the ends underneath. Using a sharp knife, preferably an athame, carve a sigil for New Beginnings deeply into the top of the loaf (either create your own or feel free to use mine).

image

Optional: Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon-sugar into the sigil.

image

Let rise another 10-15 minutes until dough reaches lip of loaf pan.

Bake for 35-40 minutes at 400F. Recite Elemental Fire, bless my family with the new beginnings I desire. I also lit a candle to represent fire and placed it atop my stove because my stove and oven are both electric and thus have no true flames.

Bread is cooked through when a light thump on the crust sounds hollow.

image

Turn finished loaves out onto racks and rub with water then wrap in tea-towels to soften crust. I just used a dampened tea-towel, but be sure not to leave it on too long or the loaves will get soggy.

image

Once it has cooled, slice with a bread knife and enjoy! If you try this, let me know how it goes! ^_^

Here is what I have so far. Most of the spells are ones I already have on my blog, but I want to add as many more as I can find on Tumblr. (Yeah, I’m crazy.) The sigils aren’t anywhere close to being done yet either; I forgot about them until just a few minutes ago tbh… But yeah, here you go, have fun. 😀
