My technique for making runes has improved a bit since I last made them (with glass fishbowl marbles and sharpies about ten years ago, lol).

These are made from translucent Sculpey with ground clove, thyme, peppermint, and gold microbead inclusions for a faux-stone look.

Photos are as follows: before baking, after baking with one coat of gold paint, and then finally a second coat of gold paint and gloss sealant.

Overall I’m quite pleased with them.

If you require seashells for your alter or for a spell or blessing, wait until you or your family and/or friends go out for sushi or seafood, then ask the server if you can keep the leftover shells from oyster/clam/muscle dishes. 9 times out of 10 they will happily give you a takeout box and some beautiful shells!
