These are ways I personally honor Freyr and my personal associations with offerings. If you have something negative to say keep it to yourself, these are personal and work for me.
Take care of yourself mentally and emotionally. Heās a fertile nature god, whatever negative thoughts you have about yourself will grow but so will the good. Practice self love, please.

Thereās actually a lot of kitchen witchcraft you can do without an actual kitchen.
Make tea. As long as you have a microwave and a mug (or if you are super lucky an electric kettle) you pretty much have the recipe for your most basic spell/remedy/warm-cozy-snuggle-in-a-cup! You can pretty much get just about any herbal tea out there at your local super market and probably at your campus convenience store or even cafeteria. If you have the space and the money and want to get fancy, you can even buy loose teas and start blending your own Itās actually not as expensive as youād thinkāas long as you get them from somewhere besides Teavana.
Add spices to your frozen food. I used to buy a lot of steamer bags of rice and flavor them up with whatever I had on hand. You can buy some cheep spices (hit up the ethnic food isle and check out the goya and other spices there because they are always super cheep). Microwaved baked potatos are also great for this. You can match the seasoning to your intent.
You donāt just have to use these teas and spices for the obvious though. You can make sachets, witchās bottles, powders and other charms with those things too. Save free t-shirts and clothes that are old and damaged to use for cloth for the sachets and recycle bottles and jars for the charm. Kitchen witchcraft is magic for the broke as fuck, so really, it is the college studentās magic.
If you can have plants in your dorm room, you may want to try growing some herbs in your window sill, or even just some flowers. You can keep a succulent or two for protection. But really, if you can throw some fresh thyme in your can of chichen soup or in your ramen, you will feel so fancy!
Make soups on trips home add intent Ā and ingredients that match that intent and freeze them in Tupperware. Theyāll stay good for up to 6 months, and you can warm them up in the microwave when you need them.
Dry herbs you get at the supermarket or plants you forage. You can put a command strip on your wall and tie them there with a bit of yarn. Theyāll make your dorm smell awesome!
See if there is a campus gardening club or if the Bio department has a greenhouse you can volunteer in. Take a plant science class. A hiking or excursion club will get you out where you can do some wild crafting too.
See if there is a pagan student union or club. So many schools have them now. You can pool resources with other people, some of whom may have apartments or access to kitchens.
Learn to knit or crochet. I met someone in college who was crocheting her own cloak for ritual wear. She had braided together a bunch of yarns with different intents. The resulting yarn ball was massive. She called it Rygal.
A kiss is a very powerful thing, even in fairytales and lore of the past the power of kisses are told of (true loveās kiss, siren/mermaid kiss, first kiss, etc). a kiss can be a powerful tool for any witch. Here are a few suggestions for using kisses and the power they hold.
Use a kiss to charge objects: crystals, tarot cards, charms, amulets, etc etc. Use it to send your emotions and energy into the object. Love is a good emotion, but any positive energies you wish to charge the object with can be transferred this way. Adding your love to something can really give it a boost as well! Especially if it is for another to use. (Note: do not kiss toxic stones please! Be safe and smart)
Spell Sealing: Use a kiss to magically seal spells such as jar and bottle spells or use it to strengthen a (cooled!) wax seal. Imagine placing the kiss its like placing an invisible seal upon it, stamping in energy to lock th spell inside.Ā
For Air and Wind spells: For all of my fellow witches who use air and wind spells, blowing a kiss after a chant or spell to summon a wind in the direction you wish it to blow is a good way to guide the wind but also show it positive reinforcement. Use it to show your gratitude for the windās cooperation. It is best for gentler wind spells.
Glamour and Beauty spells: Kiss the mirror after a beauty or glamour spell. Thank the mirror for its aid and seal any negativity into it. It also a wonderful way to reflect love back at yourself!
Love Spells: Kisses are great for powering up love spells! Kiss a candle before lighting it (careful if you are using essential oils be sure not to kiss where they are), kiss the written name of the one you desire, kiss a charm or amulet to help bring love into your life, and finally blow a kiss when finishing the the spell to close it.
Kitchen Magic: blow a kiss to finish a dish (donāt be too close though, donāt want to spread germs) to put a final charge of love into it before serving it to others. Good for with tea and coffee spells too!
Public Magic: Want to remain discrete while casting a spell in public? Blow a kiss! Its much subtler than pointing or hand motions, especially if it is a positive spell you are casting on another or a friend but it is also good for curses, either way its a wonderful way to send your intentions. Whisper the words or chant needed for the spell (if any) under your breath, imagine them them gathering in an orb of energy at your lips as you do so. Then do a subtle kiss motion on your lips (no hands and noĀ āfish lipsā, you are trying to be subtle). Then release the energy and words towards the target with a gentle blow of breath, sending the ball of energy in that direction.
Mourning/Remembrance Rituals: Ending such a ritual with a blown kiss to close it can help release your feelings in a positive manner and close the ritual with love and sincerity.Ā
Thanking tools: As someone who uses tarot cards and many other divination tools, I like to place gentle kisses to the sides of the decks after using them to help bond with them. To show them my gratitude for assisting me in not only readings but also in my spell work. I also before days where I know i will be doing a lot of divination work, I will kiss them to help charge them up (as said above). It is an excellent way to bond with your tools!
Thereās so many things you can do to honor the sun in the morning, and itās probably one of the best times to! This is when the sun is just showing her lovely face, so itās much easier to take in her power.Ā
š¼ Open all of the curtains and blinds to let the sunlight into your home.Ā
š¼ Charge your crystals (for a few minutes only! sunlight can fade them!)
š¼ Charge your sun/light/fire sigilsĀ Ā
š¼ Go outside and simply soak in the sunlight
š¼ Watch the sunrise and say a sun witchās prayerĀ
š¼ Brew some orange or citrus teaĀ
š¼ Do some painting or artwork! Enjoy how simple and beautiful the time of day is!
š¼ Water and take care of your plants
š¼ Leave an offering on your windowsill (Some good ones are fresh flowers, sunflower seeds, rosemary, citrus fruit or peels, crystals that wonāt fade in sunlight, sun charms, honey)
Feel free to add any additional tips other sun witches!
Iām afraid Iāve never disposed of love spell wax before so Iām not sure what that involves, and I definitely donāt have much experience with snow (I live in Southern California and our winters donāt really drop below 60°F)⦠Can anyone help this anon out? āļø
Okay, my useful witchy advice. Spell materials can be safely disposed of at a crossroads. Convenience stores, such as 7-11, are often located at intersections (aka crossroads) and have trash cans. I find this a useful way to dispose of things that canāt be returned to nature.Ā
Modern candles are often made of paraffin and are probably best not disposed of in nature. Beeswax and soy candles would of course be an exception.Ā Ā
That is an amazing suggestion holy shit.Ā
My town has a major intersection where 3 out of the 4 corners are occupied by convenience stores. Itās a block and a half away from my work and also enough in the middle of town that I at least pass within a block of it pretty much any time I go anywhere. This is an entirely convenient place to go for crossroads-disposal if and when I need such a thing and my materials to be disposed of are not appropriately biodegradable to just chuck in a gutter any olā place. Plus 7-11 coffee & taquitos is one of my trashy-pleasure things.Ā
Also nobody looks twice at someone pulling a bag of random whatever out of their car and tossing it in a convenience-store garbage. And convenience stores always have a little bit of that liminal-space vibe toĀ āem, crossroads location or no.
Take a dried bay leaf, draw a wealth related sigil on it (optional). Place this in your wallet, where you collect change, in a money jar etc. Forget it is there, and in time, money will find you.
Enchant their teddy (or favorite toy) with protective energy.
Stir their oatmeal clockwise to invoke good energy and bless with a happy day.
Stir soup counter clockwise to banish sickness.
While youāre at it with the oatmeal, sprinkle some cinnamon in it for its abundance in magickal properties. (And peanut butter for the yumminess factor)
Plant rose bushes near their swing set to promote protection.
Walk barefoot in the grass with them to allow them to connect with nature.
Name the neighborhood squirrels and the trees they live in to teach them that everything is connected with each other.
Itās okay to use the same three herbs in all your spells. Itās okay to have a simple altar. Itās okay to give the store brand as offerings. Itās okay to modify spells, chants, recipes to fit you and your practice. Being a witch doesnāt have to be expensive.Ā
⢠eat citrus fruits or drink fruit water as an alternative to mints. Fruit, especially sour fruit, promotes salivation, which helps to fight off bacteria in your mouth that causes bad breath. adding some strawberry, lemon, and kiwi slices to a bottle of water is a great way to keep your breath sweet.
⢠Next time you make guacamole, save the pit of the avocado, dry it, and keep it in your purse or on your person. Avocado pits are deeply symbolic of sex, lust, love, and beauty, and can help to attract romance. This symbolism dates back to the ancient aztecs, who named the avocado, āahacatl,ā or āgreen testicle.ā
⢠Dilute a few drops of pomegranate and rose oil in a teaspoon of coconut oil, and massage this into your neck, chest, and behind your ears as a perfume. The scent is light, seductive, and easy on your partnerās taste buds when they go in to leave a few hickies. Plus, the coconut oil will leave your skin silky smooth and soft.
⢠Make some DIY jewelry out of wire and river pearl beads. Strings of river pearls can be found at most craft stores; theyāre quite cheap, but just as natural and magical as expensive round pearls. Pearls are associated with beauty and sensuality, as well as corresponding to the moon and Venus. They carry a soft energy that promotes both romantic and sexual activity. Red jasper, rose quartz, and rhodochrosite are also good.
⢠Rosewater. I know so many witches AND non-witches rave over rosewater, but the hype is for good reason. Using rosewater as an astringent facial mist is a refreshing and sensual finishing touch to your date night beauty routine. Rose energy enhances your beauty, and the barely noticeable scent will entice your partner to come a little closer.
⢠strawberries are a natural aphrodisiac. A stick or container of strawberry lip balm can easily be enchanted to make your lips look naturally ravishing with some rose quartz, red jasper, and a pink candle. Bonus points if itās pink or red tinted.
⢠Body glitter!! I know this isnāt everyoneās cup of tea, but as someone who doesnāt often wear makeup, I like to find new and exciting ways to glamourize my look without it. Moisturizing body bars and sprays can be found at stores like lush, (the shimmy shimmy bar is my fave,) or online. You can also make your own with some coconut oil, beeswax, essential and fragrance oils, and skin safe seaweed based glitter. I use body glitter as an extra kick to beauty glamours, and a physical reminder of how magically delicious I look.
Thatās all I have for now, but if you have any of your own tips please feel free to add on! Much love and good luck to you all š
Save your orange peels! After eating, you can wash the peel, let it dry for about a week or so, and then store the peel in a jar (helpful tip: break up the peel into bits, itās just a little easier that way).
The orange peel bits can be used in spells for happiness, energy, and prosperity! Itās also useful for teas. ššš
