Using Tarot in Spellwork

intuitive-witch:

I am both a witch and a diviner, and I love to combine the two whenever possible! Here’s a short list of a few ways you could include tarot (or oracle or affirmation or lenormand) cards into your magical rituals.

✨ Add power to your spell with the card’s symbolism. For example, if you are performing a spell to draw wealth into your life, you could lay out the Nine of Pentacles or the Wheel of Fortune.

✨ To check in on a spell’s progress or results. Doing a post-spell reading will offer some needed insight. For example, some cards may warn you that you’ll get your desired outcome eventually, but you’ll need to be patient or some cards may suggest that the spell will manifest in unexpected ways.

✨ As a focus for meditation. Grab a card that feels right to you and lose yourself staring into its details, colors, shapes, and symbols.

✨ Add in a tarot card to your crystal grids. If you utilize crystals in your craft, place a card relevant to your intentions underneath the center stone of a crystal grid. This will reinforce your intentions.

✨ Use tarot cards for sympathetic magic or as an alternative to poppets. Do you have a card that you feel really represents you as a person, or represents the target of a spell? Instead of making a poppet, you can use the card representation. Many poppet spells require destroying the poppet once the effect has taken place, but you can always break the link magically instead to preserve your cards.

✨ Use the ace of each suit as representation of the four elements on your altar. This is a great option for witches who need something that is easy to take apart, transport, or hide.

I’m not sure if anyone else has written about this before, but there must be infinite possibilities for incorporating tarot cards into your spells! Do what feels right to you.
