When writing a spell, I like to go through the who, what when, where, why, and how of the spell.

“Who” is the target/recipient of the spell. In my case it is usually myself.

“What” is the objective/s of the spell.

“When” is the time frame of the spell. I include starts, ends, and any times it is to recur. These can be “when requirements x, y, z are met”.

“Where” is simply enough the location/s. May be tied to an individual.

“Why” gives you a nice reminder of the spell’s purpose, and can avoid spells backfiring ironically by “working” but against their ultimate purpose. This may be a good time to reflect on your rede or other moral code, and add a “clause” to keep your spell working within it.

“How” refers to the “route” which you want your spell to take, but also what energy will be used to power the spell.

This format lends itself well to written or digital records of your spell, and clearly defines all aspects of it.

if there’s some old bad energy and/or some nasty little spirits lingering around your house, you don’t have to drag out some elaborate banishing ritual to deal with it
honestly, just stomping around your house sprinkling salt water and chanting “fuck off” will do the trick just fine, maybe even more effectively than a fancy banishing
i did it the other night to do away with some astral fuckery going on in my house and i haven’t had a problem since

These real-talk witch tips are my favorite.

Curtis and I watch a lot of RPDR and for about 6 months after Bianca Del Rio’s season, our favorite method of clearing energy was lighting sage and palo santo together and yelling NOT TODAY SATAN at the top of our lungs even though we really are Pantheistic and work with everybody…

The point was made~! And it did work!

Another favorite of Curtis’s is “I AM NOT SUBSCRIBING TO BULLSHIT TODAY. CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION. NOBODY ORDERED BULLSHIT.”

Sometimes I’m like “how would the druids feel about this”

and then other times i’m like “the druids did not subscribe to bullshit.”
