ramblings-of-a-wayward-witch:

There’s a thing  called a “ME” candle. A Me candle is dedicated to yourself, usually burned when your personal energy is low.

Usually a pillar candle, it can be any color but my personal preference is white. You can dedicate the candle any way you like, but a simple way is to just hold it and focus on your intention of infusing the candle with your energy. It helps to do this on a good day when your energy is high!  You can dress the candle with essential oils that boost energy – like eucalyptus, lemon, grapefruit, cedarwood, peppermint.  Any citrus oils are great for boosting energy. Of course, it’s ok to NOT use eo’s if you don’t have them or can’t afford them.

You can also carve sigils and/or bind runes in the candle pertaining to boosting your energy. (this is actually my preferred method – it kind of makes it more personal)

You can burn your candle on low energy days, when you’re doing a spell/ritual to boost the energy of said spell. Or even whenever you feel the need.

Happy Witching , lovelies ❤

Witches Morning Routine

Ideas for a cozy witchy morning! Perfect for secretive witches ✨

  • Open your windows/curtains and say goodmorning to the sun or admire it and the earth
  • Write down any dreams you had if you wish to interpret them
  • Hold any of your crystals, tarot cards, etc to make them feel loved and to get any wonderful energy
  • If you have a safe space you may pull a tarot card or meditate
  • Close your eyes in front of a bookshelf, grab a book and open to a random page. Without looking, slide your finger to any spot on the page and read the sentence. Ponder the sentence and apply it to yourself (simple method of divination)
  • Read your horoscope for the day (there is plenty of apps and websites)
  • Water any plants or feed any animals in the house and give them some love
  • Go for a walk if time allows, clear your mind and breathe in fresh, clean energy to uplift you
  • Light a candle, using any colour/scent that will suit your day
  • If you drink coffee, add a dash of cinnamon to it or the grinds
  • If you drink tea, stir it clockwise to promote or counter clockwise to banish
  • Make breakfast and add special spices to it for certain things
  • Worship/leave an offering to a deity or perhaps earth itself
  • If you wear makeup, draw sigils with the foundation or wear a certain colour of lipstick/eyeshadow for its properties
  • Remind yourself that you are beautiful, and a badass witch ❤️

Witchy tip:

Washi tape!

Are you in a dorm or other place where you can’t burn candles, but the healing spell asks for a blue candle? Use washi tape to turn your electric candle into a blue one! Do you want to burn a rose candle on your Aphrodite altar but you’re not allowed an open flame? Well, it doesn’t smell like roses but it’s pretty and has pink flowers!

Do you want the tealight in forest-themed travel altar to match the rest of the aesthetic? Washi tape!

Washi tape is removable, so you can keep changing the colour to whatever you need. And you can write on it, so instead of carving candles, you can draw your sigils or runes on the tape!

Happy Crafting!

Witch Tip

starborn-witch:

When divining with a pendulum, ask these two questions first:

  1. Pendulum, are you in harmony with me?
  2. Is now a good time to ask questions of a spiritual nature?

If you get a “no” for either question, do a quick cleansing of yourself, your pendulum, and your space using your preferred method and try again. If you still get a “no” for either question, try again later; perhaps in a different place.

This will help you calibrate your pendulum and get into a good habit of when and where to use it. It will also let you know if there may be spiritual interference that would affect the answers you receive. Happy divining!

Tips for beginner witches

Where to start? This is the most common question i receive. I understand how overwhelming the craft can be! There are so many different components, and you can rest knowing your education will NEVER be complete. You will continue to learn new things all the time, and there is no rush to the order in which you learn! Cool down, and take some time to really fall into theory before jumping into practice. Its very important to read as much as you can, from as many sources as possible. Here are some of the many things you can research:

  • Crystals & their uses
  • Color correspondences
  • Different kinds of Magic
  • Different kinds of witches
  • Tools
  • Moon Phases
  • Planets/Celestial Bodies
  • Witch History
  • Herbs & their uses
  • Plants that are naturally abundant in your area that you can use in magick
  • Energy
  • Meditation and Visualisation
  • Astral Projection
  • Deities
  • Tarot cards and other forms of divination
  • Symbols (runes, sigils)
  • Theban alphabet
  • Incense and Oils
  • Animals and what they represent
  • Sabbats
  • Cleansing, charging and consecration of tools
  • making mundane things magical

There are so many more things, so feel free to add in anything I missed or that you personally find important.

Witchlings, please ask me any questions you may have as i am happy to answer to the best of my knowledge. I will be putting up more educational posts over the next few weeks, so please ask or message me if theres anything specific you’d like me to cover. I’ll more than likely have a post for each of the bullet points above.

Blessed be!

Hey kids,

Before you rub an unknown thing on your skin, ingest an unfamiliar thing, light a random recommendation from the internet on fire, or otherwise come in contact with something that you are not personally knowledgeable about, take 2 seconds and google it.

For example:

  • St. Johns Wort, if ingested, has negative interactions with anti-depressants, and interferes with birth control because it speeds up the metabolism of certain substances.
  • Continuous exposure to fluorite causes a painful bone disease. Fluorite dust can be absorbed through the lungs, skin, and is soluble in water.
  • There are parts of  yew that should not be burned.
  • Mugwort is related to ragweed and can cause allergic reactions. Also, it can cause and enhance anxiety.
  •  Essential oils, man

No, really. 2 seconds. Google. You’re at an internet connected device anyway. Save yourself the trouble of a bad time.

Chamomile is also related to ragweed I believe. I am super allergic, just smelling it gives me a migraine.

Oh! I didn’t know that.

Just goes to show that even commonly used items can cause issues.
