As someone who got more involved and knowledgeable by keeping a witchy journal, I feel like creating a 30 day journal prompt series may help you guys out! 😀 The tag for this is ‘Witchy Journal Entries’ so, if you want to use that go ahead! 😀 You can also tag me in it if you want, since i love reading these types of posts!

Day One: What type of witchcraft do you relate to the most? Are there more than one paths you like?

Day Two: Are you a secular witch, or one who incorporates religion into their craft? If you are secular, what spells do you do the most often, and why? if you’re non-secular, which deities do you call on the most, and why?

Day Three: What are five things you have in your room that you can use in a spell or ritual? What could you use them for?

Day Four: Name five of your favourite tools and why you like to use them, If you don’t use any tools, explain why.

Day Five: If you use herbs in your spells/etc., list three that are safe, and three that are not. Name their correspondences as well.

Day Six: Where did you learn about witchcraft from? Was it something that just kind of appeared into your life, were you born in a witchy family, or did you learn on your own?

Day Seven: Has your craft changed or transformed since you began? Have any of your beliefs or values changed?

Day Eight: Make a wish! Write out one wish or goal you have, and fill it with energy. Lay a crystal that corresponds with it on top (optional), and write about why you want this to happen.

Day Nine: Draw a sigil for success and growth at the top of your page, or paste a picture in if you’re doing this online. Write about one thing that you feel inspires you to grow and succeed.

Day Ten: Do you practice any divination? If so, how has it helped you/affected you? If not, would you like to learn, or is it something that doesn’t interest you?

Day Eleven: Support is a big deal. Do your family members and/or friends support you? If so, how has their support impacted your practice? If not, how do you work around this obstacle?

Day Twelve: Have any advice for new witches or people interested in the craft? Anything you wish you knew before starting your journey?

Day Thirteen: Do you use visualization for spells, meditations, etc.? Why or why not?

Day Fourteen: Do you believe that everyone is capable of manifesting magick? Has this belief affected you and your life?

Day Fifteen: What is one thing witchcraft has taught you? Do you like knowing this, or not?

Day Sixteen: What does being a witch mean to you? What responsibilities do you feel you have as a witch?

Day Seventeen: Do you follow a traditional branch of witchcraft? What does it mean to follow this tradition to you? If you do not, what do you feel impacts your practice the most?

Day Eighteen: Name five simple methods of protection and explain them, Keep this page bookmarked somehow for future use.

Day Nineteen: Do you incorporate witchcraft into everything yo do, or just use it when you feel the need to?

Day Twenty: When something feels wrong/off when casting a spell, what do you do? Are there any other methods of grounding/gaining control that you have heard of?

Day Twenty-One: How do your surroundings change or effect your craft?

Day Twenty-Two: What are your ‘essentials’ for casting?

Day Twenty-Three: Does the moon play any part in your craft? Do you charge anything with it, or center rituals, etc. around the phases?

Day Twenty-Four: Have you ever felt like the world was full of magick, and were in awe? Talk about this, or any time you have felt energy all around you.

Day Twenty-Five: Are you a kitchen witch? If so, what’s your favourite recipe? If not, what witchy title do you like to use the most often? WItches can’t really be sorted into categories, since most of us would fall into more than one/many different ‘types’, so feel free to name as many as you want.

Day Twenty-Six: Ever made a sachet? If so, what were the ingredients? If not, explain the symbolism you find in your favourite crystal or herb.

Day Twenty-Seven: What are your feelings about cursing? Are there any circumstances in which you think cursing would be appropriate/inappropriate? Where do these feelings stem from?

Day Twenty-Eight: Do you work with any spirits? Why or why not?

Day Twenty-Nine: Have you ever changed your mind about something magick-related? Ex: belief in magick, opinion on cursing, etc.

Day Thirty: Any last words? Write about anything magickal you feel that is important, special, or something you hold very near and dear to your heart.

OOH!

Starting this on Friday the 1st because I love witchcraft and I love talking about myself/noshame.

feel good things:

  • watch sunrises. somehow, this makes me feel like the beginning of something new, the birth of my better, stronger self. watch the way the sun rises, because just like that, you will rise and shine, too.
  • sing your heart out. dance until you’re exhausted. make art until you run out paint. write out your feelings. indulge in your passion and do it like you’re doing it to impress yourself.
  • relive your favorite, happiest memory. it is one easy guaranteed effective way to make your heart, your soul, and even your lips smile. no bias.
  • rewatch your favorite film. grab some chips or a bucket of popcorn and have a marathon of your most-watched flicks. don’t hesitate to replay your favorite scenes if you feel the need to.
  • aspire and try to be kind, always. being kind on a daily basis is possibly one of the most exhausting and draining thing to ever do but i promise at the end of the day, before you go to sleep you will realize: it is worth it. always.
  • take a shower. scrub off your creeping self-doubts, smell nice, and bask yourself with self-love. take your time to ponder about your life inside the tub. this is the best time to reevaluate and relax.
  • be spontaneous even just for one day. drive away from the city. get a haircut. go on a coffee shop hopping. sketch random places. let your heart and your thoughts wander. let your soul soar and be free.
  • treat yourself. it does not necessarily have to be something enormous or expensive. it could just be a new set of brushes or getting a thrifted second-hand book or buying yourself some bouquet of fresh flowers. it’s not about the tags, it’s about the thought.
  • rekindle your love for a forgotten passion. nothing beats falling in love with something the second time around. touch your dusty piano keys, change your rusty violin strings, and once again (just like the old days), let your ardor dance in harmony.
  • take a nap. because sometimes, the best way to temporarily solve something, is to do nothing. yes, it is only ethical to give yourself a break from the overwhelming society. and yes, taking a nap most of the time makes everything better.
  • if you want to or feel the need to, cry. there is nothing wrong with doing something that is inherent. this does not prove that you are weak, it only proves that you are a human being capable of feeling things. so really, do not ever plan to hinder yourself from crying. it’s often times therapeutic.
  • do something that you have never done before. no more excuses. just because there is nothing more empowering and satisfying than crossing something out of your bucketlist.

Apple has finally admitted they throttle older iPhones with iOS updates when they release a new model. As the battery degrades over time it’s no longer capable of providing as much power as the CPU needs to draw at peak performance and this can cause unexpected shutdowns so they’ve just been quietly slowing down their phones without disclosing it until now. Probably to encourage you to just buy a new phone for $1000 instead of having the battery replaced for $80.

Anyways if you’re able to replace the battery yourself iFixit sells a kit for $24.99

I just bought a Honeybull battery off amazon ($20 Last I checked) and my phone is running amazing now. It’s a 2.5 year old iPhone 6. It was chugging really bad before but now I’d say it’s back to normal (and no longer shutting off at 30% or when it’s below 60F out). The swap wasn’t all that difficult either.

Duly noted.

My best friend just taught me the greatest tarot trick:
Is there something in your life that isn’t going your way? Shuffle your cards, sift through them and find the Wheel of Fortune card. The cards found on either side of it are insight into what you need to do to change your circumstances.

Oh this is nice. Quick and painless.

OH AND ANOTHER.

You may use the same method above for any of the trumps, searching for the trump that best represents your concerns. Love? Find the cards on either side of the Lovers. Concerned about new beginnings? Scope who is hanging out with the Magician. Etc.

I love doing this! I started doing it after learning the basics of lenormand, since this type of significator-centered spread is really common.

Try it!

Night Routine for a Busy Witch

death-witch-envy:

Since a lot of people seemed to enjoy my Morning Routine for a Busy Witch, I’ve decided to write out my nighttime routine. Again, this post is only for ideas, and there’s no need to do this every night.

  • Tea is my absolute go-to for nighttime calm.
    • Herbal teas that don’t have caffeine, but can still calm you, include: chamomile, lavender, rose, valerian (do not take while already on a sedative), lemon balm, spearmint, sage, licorice root, rooibos, and blackberry leaves.
      • A lot of these herbs, such as chamomile, will also help you digest if you drink the tea after dinner.
    • Green teas do have a bit of caffeine, but can be very calming. I’ll often drink sencha at night.
  • Light a scented candle. Any floral scent, like the ones listed above, will help you relax before bed.
  • Baths and showers will not only relax your muscles, but also calm your mind. I personally refuse to bed with wet hair, so I usually take a bath with some scented candles lit and low light.
    • This has been said a million times before, but baths and showers make great cleansing rituals. Imagine scrubbing off your biggest worries and watching them swirl down the drain along with the soap bubbles.
  • When you rub on lotion, draw some sigils or runes on your skin before rubbing them in.
  • If you have a cleansing spray or air freshener, now is the time to use it. What better way to end the day than cleansing your house and having the air feel fresh?
  • If possible, go outside and sit with the moon for five minutes. I don’t know what it is about moonlight–it just heals the mind.
  • I struggle to do this myself, but in the best case scenario, it’d be great to wash your dishes before going to bed. It is so nice to wake up to a clean kitchen. Picking up clothes off the floor and throwing them into a hamper also greatly improves your morning. When your space is less cluttered, your mind is less cluttered.
  • Give a tiny offering before going to bed. It can be something you can leave overnight, such as water, salt, or herbs. It’s low-effort, spiritually attuning, and helps you feel satisfied with your day before bed.
  • I don’t personally do this, but I know a lot of people will meditate or stretch before bed. I find that grounding exercises also relax me before bed.
  • This is a personal routine of mine: I use a lavender salve I made and rub it on the bottom of my feet before bed. The lavender helps calm the body, and according to reflexology, your feet are connected to the rest of your body. Not to mention your feet get sore after a long day! Rubbing the salve on your feet will help you sleep.
    • You can do the same thing with lotion, preferably lavender scented.
    • I used to rub on hand cream before bed, and that helped me relax as well.
  • You can give your face a steam bath by boiling some water and adding a drop of essential oil into it, then bathing yourself in the steam. I’m wary of adding essential oil to my cooking pot because not all of them are edible, so I usually transfer the boiling water to another bowl and then add the essential oil. Still works like a charm.
  • When you get in bed, read something. Even like two minutes of reading will help calm you and (hopefully) make you drowsy. Unless you’re SUPER into the book. Then don’t read at night. Read something boring, like your homework.
  • Placing one of these crystals under your pillow may help you sleep: amethyst, labradorite, jade, black tourmaline, clear or rose quartz, selenite, or hematite.
    • Some people will place bags of pine, thyme, lavender, eucalyptus, or other calming herbs beneath their pillow. If you do this, be extra careful with how you bag them! My cousin ended up getting pine needles all over her bed because they weren’t secure. Use a ziploc bag or envelope to contain the herbs.

Man, could you imagine me doing all of this every night? No way! But these are fun things to consider when you want to clear your mind before bed. Happy witching! ✩°。⋆⸜(ू。•ω•。)
