Small Witchy Challenges to Reconnect to Your Practice
Sometimes it can be hard to really feel connected to the actual magickal side of being a witch. Personally I’m involved with my deities or other spiritual/personal things 110% of the time but I don’t always feel connected to my actual witchcraft. So here are a few small magickal challenges I thought up to help anyone in a similar situation.
✨ – Set aside a time once a week to burn a candle. Make it a color that connects to whatever aspect of your life you would like insight or growth in and spend 10 minutes watching the flame and opening yourself to whatever it is you’re seeking.
✨ – If you have any books with pre written simple spells in them (most intro to witchcraft books have a section) flip through it and find a spell that calls to you and do it! As written, just to practice getting out of your head and going through the motions of spell work.
✨ – Send out blessings. To your crush. A new friend. Your best friend. Your mom. Whoever.
✨ – Call up your energy into your palms and then place them on your own heart to send yourself love and healing and to connect yourself to your energy.
✨ – Spend some time picturing the kind of witch you wish you were, your ideal witchsona if you will. Then tell yourself that’s exactly who you already are. Keep reminding yourself whenever you feel disconnected from your craft that you are already an unbelievable witch.
✨ – Go back through your old book of shadows/grimoire and reflect on what’s worked for you in the past.
✨ – Wake up and tell yourself first thing “I am a witch. I am magick. My life is full of magick. I see and feel all the magick around me. I am a witch.”
✨ – Pick out outfits or accessories that make you feel witchy. (Bonus points for intentionally planning a super witchy outfit on the full moon)
✨ – Do a spell for anything that’s coming up in your life that you want to work out a certain way, no matter how trivial it seems. Test this week? Do a spell. About to start a work out routine? Do a spell. First date? Spell. Gotta stay on budget grocery shopping? Spell. Your worth it, it’s good practice, and if it all ends up working even better!
✨ – Write down spell ideas as they come to you. Save them as notes in your phone and then come back and flesh them out in your BOS later.
✨ – Come up with your own challenges! If you’d like to share, tag me on your post or send them to me, I’d love to hear your ideas!
If you cook yourself, draw sigils in your food or pans! Watch the spices you use and be aware of their properties; use spices to craft your spell and intention into your food 💚
It’s really easy to do this with coffee and tea as well 💚💜
@witch-of-color you’re wonderful 💚💚
Great addition!! Thank you!
Different methods of meditation. There are many more than this. You have to find what works for you. Do your research and try them out!
Random language practice idea: write a letter to your future self in your target language, put it in an envelope, and read it one year later to see how much you’ve improved!
This! What a brilliant idea, and not to mention another chance to write & decorate a pretty letter! :3 (Actually more than one if you’re learning more languages! hehe)
Intimacy do not always mean sex…
Wash her hair for her
Help her shave
Cook a meal together
Write her a letter… about her(no actually write it)
Shower together (or bath)
Body rubs and massages work well (especially her feet and booty)😉
When she’s removing polish from her fingers…grab a cotton ball and remove the polish from her toes
After she showers…meet her with a dry towel and dry her off
When she’s dry rub her down with coconut oil(or whatever she prefers…
TALK: about her day…her goal…her opinions…
Listen to her…
Form secret code words that only you and her will understand if said publicly
Build memories together….
JUST A FEW SUGGESTIONS….Reblog if you have some suggestions to add.
– Protect her
– help her oil/grease her scalp
– paint her a picture on computer paper with the $2 watercolor paints from walmart
– remind her to take her medication
– comfort her if she has an anxiety or panic attack
– be honest
– Do NOT lie to her
– bring her snacks when she’s on her period
– help her do her laundry
– support her dreams & aspirations🙏🏾
Real ones.

- Leave offerings for the spirits of the hedgegrow or your harvest gods to thank them for their bounty.
Witch Tip: For Witches With Medications!
If your medications come to you in a bottle, save it! You can use them for holding small items, act as a small spell jar, use them for holding different types of water, all kinds of things!
Make sure to clean them out as necessary before re-purposing them.
I myself am a closeted witch, and I’m using one right now to hold water to be charged under the moonlight. I plan to use my moon water to add a little to my baths, or my tea! Or even pour it into my water bottle. I don’t need a whole lot for these, so a small medication bottle is perfectly sized.
To remove any stickers that are on the bottles:
Try your best to take them off by hand first. Then you can use a warm rag, and soak the stickers. This will make them easier to peel off! Then you can put your own labels, or anything you like on them if you wish.
A lot of medication bottles are orange, so they could be useful for spells and such that would benefit from that color!
Hope this was helpful.
Roadtrip Protection Charm
Create a sachet charm to keep in your car and protect you during your travels.
Car accidents are one of the lead causes of deaths in the U.S. Everyone is likely to get into at least a few accidents over the course of their lives. Even the best driver’s can’t control the actions of everyone else on the road. Obviously, this spell won’t make up for good old defensive driving. But it should help protect you from those factors that are beyond your control.
You’ll need:
- Incense: Sandalwood, Frankincense, or Dragon’s blood
- A small sachet/bag, preferably a thin cotton
- Ingredients for the sachet*
*There are so many plants, flowers, and herbs that are associated with protection, so you can really customize this to whatever you want. But, because this charm will be kept in a small, enclosed space, we want to be mindful of the smell. Garlic and valerian have great protective properties, but will make your car smell unpleasant (to say the least). So, here are some of my suggestions:
- Ideal ingredients: Mint, leaves from an Ash tree, and Wormwood. These all have specific associations with safe travel
- Flowers: Carnation, chrysanthemum, lavender, lilac, peony
- Trees (use twig or leaves): Birch, cedar, dogwood, elder, oak, willow
- Other herbs/plants: Aloe, bay leaves, branches from blueberry or raspberry bush, caraway seeds (extra helpful to protect against theft), three-leaf clover, holly and mistletoe (especially around the holidays)
- Spices: Pepper, salt (or black salt), a stick of cinnamon, rosemary.
This should give you enough options. My sachet contained mint, ash leaves, black salt, rosemary, caraway seeds, and lavender.
Ideally, you could perform this spell in your car, if you have the privacy to do so. I drove to a secluded place down by my local river. Use the incense to do a smoke cleanse of your car and stay focused on the image of protection. Make sure you have your doors/windows open so that the negative vibes have a way to escape (and your car won’t smell too strongly of smoke.) If you like, you can use some phrases to keep you focused: protect the driver, any passengers, help the car run well, etc. If there are any safety features with your car, such as airbags, make sure you focus some energy there too. Don’t forget the steering wheel, tires and under the hood, though avoid directing the smoke to the engine parts, a simple wave overhead should suffice.
Combine the ingredients in your sachet. Stay focused on the intent of each ingredient. If you still have some incense, wave the sachet through the smoke. Keep the charm in your car, preferably some place open, like your cup holder or dash. You could put it in your glove compartment, though it will be closed off from the rest of your car, so the “flow” might be stifled. Also, it is technically illegal to hang things from your mirror, so I can’t advise it.
Safe travels!
